CC project: subtle sideburns

After thinking about Ripp's sideburns some more, and some fruitless searching, I decided to try my hand at alpha editing.






Everything is clearly labeled, to avoid confusion.




1. No sideburns

2. My alpha-edited subtle sideburns - I can only figure out how to make them in black. Does anyone know how to toggle the colour in BodyShop?

3. My sideburns, again. Shown in black, to illustrate how they would look if they matched up.

4. Maxis sideburns

5. Tyler's sideburns (from GoS)

6. Fanseelamb's pointy sideburns (included with the Rufus Wainwright sim)


So what do you think? They achieve the effect I want them too (less stylized, and more natural than the other options), but I don't know how to make them brown. I'm sure there's an easy answer that I'm somehow missing. Anyone?

Also, what could be sexier than Ripp?

Answer: Six Ripps.

Yes, but all I have access to is the black. If I could get a blond version, I could probably get the brown too, right? I have no idea how to switch to the other colours when creating the project with the facial hair.

Am I just missing something? It seems really weird that black would be the only option.

REALLY? I've never created Facial hair in Bodyshop, so I didn't know. :(

Oh, I would really appreciate it if you took a look at it. I was a bit spaced out when I was doing this, so I really could have missed it. It only seems logical to have the option. Thanks, Josh! :)

Me too. I love that they're so popular, it makes me feel so happy that I made them. (I keep wishing for the day I see one of my hairs around, but I never do.)

I think I have used your hairs, but not on any of the characters you've seen in the story. It's more to do with Peggy's meshes than your recolours (which are lovely), so I hope you don't feel bad. I'm just not a huge fan of her hair. It's a bit busy for me.

*nodnod* That's what I guessed it was, most Maxis Matchers don't use her meshes, but some of them are gorgeous, imo. I totally get it though.

Yeah, I know you're a fan, so I try not to gripe about 'em too much (when you're around, that is... when you leave the room I just unload :P). I do like some Peggy meshes, but I'm more of a Raon girl for the long girly stuff.

Oooh, I'd probably like most any Raon hair you do. I'm really into them. There's a wavy one I'd LOVE to see recoloured, but I bet it would be difficult, since you'd need the highlights in the right places (or so I assume).

It's Hair 40. I love it. I used to use it (with the Raon textures) on Lilith in an early version of Pleasantview. She looks awesome in that hair.

A list? Wow. I've been hoping someone would retexture more Raon hair, so this is very good news. :D

Those are great. I really love 22 and 35. And 36 is another nice one with waves. I've always liked 5 a whole lot too. And 2.

Her website gets irrate with me all the time. She gets a lot of traffic there.

Funny thing is, I don't like Raon's male hair all that much. She always has it long at the nape of the neck and over the ears. It makes the cuts more feminine, and they'd be better if the length was more focussed on the top only. It's very much an anime thing, though, I think.

I like a small few of her Male hairs, but most of them, I agree with you, they're really exaggerated, feminine and anime. I hate it.

It was one of the first cc hairs I just had to have in my game. We don't have enough nice curly hair for sims. That one is gorgeous.
