Sand in the backyard?

Does anyone else get this sandy effect off in the distance from the lot view at the Summerdream house? I've seen it on other lots too, like in Bluewater Village, and I was wondering what causes it. Is it the same in other people's games? It's a pretty minor thing, but it kind of bothers me.

I don't remember seeing that effect in my game, but that could be because I was not paying attention last time I loaded Veronaville.

Next time I do, I will definitely see if that happens in my game as well.

I'd love to know if it's just me or if others see it. I suspect that it might have something to do with my lower graphics quality since adding the last couple of EP/SPs, if that's possible. I seem to have less distance detail than I had before, too.

Thanks for checking this out for me. I really appreciate it. I think I could relax a little if I actually knew what the heck was going on there.

I thiiink... that's the sandy neighborhood deco? Odd, because it supposedly doesn't show up from lot view. :S

Hmmm. I don't think so, but I could check again. I actually tried to cover it up in Bluewater Village by adding the grassy neighborhood deco, but that didn't show up, as is usually the case. I'm a bit puzzled by this.

I think it's to do with the edges of the lot... I have it in my game to. It is very annoying!

I haven't found a way as of yet to fix it! If you do, let me know!

I've had that as a glitch a few times, I really have no idea what it's due to, but it seems to appear most often when I put lots from the bin into a neighbourhood that is not necessarily the one it was built for. When I was building a custom Uni, I used the Desiderata valley template, and dropped down some of the dorms from the bin built for SSU and LFT. Some worked fine, others did the sandy edge thing. Same for when I was filling it with community lots, and it actually did the sandy terrain for one that I had downloaded from MTS but not any of the ones I'd stolen from other Unis. So I suspect it might have something to do with an issue of the terrain lots are on vs. the terrain they were built for, trying to merge to the new terrain and not quite managing. I don't know, that's really just my best guess because it's when placing lots that the issue shows up for me. But I agree that it's incredibly annoying.

I've had it happen too, I believe it's because of the depth of the pond. If you remove the pond, and put in another, more shallow the sand goes away, at least in my game :)

I never noticed that before, but after you mentioned it I checked on my game too. It's weird and random because, at least in my game, seems to come and go as I change hood or reload the game. Also, I can't see it from the hood view at first, but appears after playing the lot O_0

I even tried moving the lot for a test, and the same happens anywhere you place it, but the lot got all flooded after moving (it's on a test hood, jic), so I figured maybe the terrain inside the lot is, not only uneven, but also very low and that could be causing the sandy effect (like in the edges of the river in VV)

I had that effect in my VV hood. It's because the house is so low to the watertable. It happened to me when I tried to 'fix' the lot's atrocious foundation and nothing I did made it go away. In my case, I also had it look like the backyard was flooded.

I finally ended up rebuilding the lot from scratch after fixing the terrain first, so it wasn't so sinking below the water line.

That might be a loading issues with one of your beach houses but, I've never seen this before.
