Triffids. Terrible, terrible triffids.

So... I borrowed The Chrysalids and The Day of the Triffids from a friend, and now I'm sort of hooked on reading John Wyndham. These are great books. If you haven't read them, I'd highly recommend checking them out. I'm going to have to seek out more of his stuff, I think.

Hmm. Now why do I have the sudden urge to make S,HWC more post-apocalyptic? ;)

Do an apocalypse challenge! It would be awesome to have more people doing them. :D

Besides, they practically BEG for stories around them. ;)

It's been years, but I loved "The Day of the Triffids." Books are so cool.

Also- why do I see S,HWC becoming more post-apocalyptic? I mean, aside from your prophet coming, and PT 9 dieing... Go with your muse!

Not familiar with John Wyndham or his writings.

But with the number of recent rebel alien sightings in your S,HWC, instead I see abductions that don't always make it back to S,WHC. That possibly candidates could be impregnated, and also going on the trip would be the other half-breeds already being persecuted by the general pop, and they'd then be deposited on a new world to survive. Sort of a bit backwards to PollTech#9 and Jayne Doe's plans for Johnny. I guess it could resemble post-apocalyptic living.

This popped into my head after reading your 'urge,' if you hate it then please disregard it. You've got me hooked with your story and character development, and I look forward with much anticipation to your next updates.

Do an alternate-universe Strangetown where there's been some kind of horrible cataclysm! So long as you can handle the workload and your muse holds out, there's no downside!

I never actually read Day of the Triffids, but The Chrysalids is a favourite of mine. ^_^

Post-apocalypse ... In my story I have planned for the future I've got a little bit of that for each season of the story. Everyone of them ends with a rather cataclysmic climax. This includes at least two attacks from hostile aliens.

But as for your story, hmm ... well, you should know by now who I'll suggest for the role of bringing this about!
