Status Report

Drinking a beer, installing Sims 3...

Umm, what?

Why are you looking at me like that? You can't JUDGE me!

[identity profile] meetme2theriver.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll forgive you if you give us reports shortly. ;)

Despite the fact that I have numerous issues with the game, I just couldn't resist.

Oh, there will be reports. Opinionated reports. XD My plans are to make a simself and release her into Sunset Valley (or maybe that new Riverview hood? Nah, I have to see widdle Mortimer - I LOVE Mortimer). It's always the first thing I do in any sims game. It was ALL I ever did in Sims 1. I didn't play the premades at all.

[identity profile] meetme2theriver.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, I'll be giving it a go too... :) I'll probably, er... test-drive it, though.

Hee, have fun. Looking forward to the reports, it's interesting to see what other REAL people and not EA-drones or reviewers think of the game. (I actually never had a self-sim, the concept of seeing a 'self' have babies and grow old and die creeps me out.) Little Morty is cute!

Heheh. Well, there's no need to go into details, right? It was released today, so obviously everyone bought it. *ahem*

I'm hoping I can make a simself that actually looks like me this time. The last one was just okay. The double chin factor makes it a little more likely this time around.

[identity profile] meetme2theriver.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Obviously. :)

Hehe. Yeah, I don't think I even have the skills to make a sim that looks like a real person anyway, but the options are rather limited for TS2 so I can see it's a problem. I think it's kinda funny that so many simselves end up looking so close to face template 1. :p (I don't quite remember what yours looks like.)

My simself isn't too bad. I recently made her even more like me.

I agree that Sims 3 is maybe even worse for options to customize the face. I'll have to play around with it some more, but it seems they've taken away options as well as add them, which is lame. I hope they come out with a Bodyshop sort of thing that's better than CAS. *hopes*

[identity profile] 80sfiend.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
But see I just don't ever let mine die...cause that's just creepy and weirds me out. O.O
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:33 am (UTC)(link)
I have yet to let mine die too, but only because I've never played her for that long.

I have bred her, though, and that's a little scary.

[identity profile] simsinthecity.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd forgive you if there's a Sunset Valley, Here we Come to be involved xD

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'll at least attempt to come up with a new title. :P

I'm not sure if it's appealing to me for storytelling in the same way, or maybe just not with the Maxis sims. I can't handle this prequel nonsense, especially when they insist on completely borking the timelines. I'm thinking this time around I might go the custom hood route and try some original characters.

[identity profile] simsinthecity.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering that I had an entire backstory for Kaylynn Langerak before the story was even announced, it'll be hard for me to disagree there. At least mine makes sense :P

*puts on judging cap*

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
You are so WEAK. *teasing* You know I can't wait for your review.

Just please, put a warning if there are any larval babies *shudders*.

Re: *puts on judging cap*

[identity profile] meetme2theriver.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Those ARE creepy, aren't they? In their little pink or blue cocoons.

Re: *puts on judging cap*

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
*screams*

STOP talking about them!!!!

Re: *puts on judging cap*

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG! So THATS why I thought they looked so creepy. XD

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh GOD, the babies! *shudders along with you*

Seriously, what they hell where they thinking (besides the fact that they'll make us "unlock" the babies with the baby EP, and that will finally remove the blanket - that's what I'm thinking they're up to).

Re: *puts on judging cap*

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
*snort* Unlock the babies. They'll unwrap them like they do a face after someone has had plastic surgery. Then you'll see if your baby has arms and legs or. . .TENTACLES!!! Tentacle babies could be the "creature sim".

OR, if you hang the cocoon baby up (by the feet area) they'll form a crysalis and you might get a. . .BUTTERFLY BABY.

OR, if you plant the seed pod shaped baby you'll get a plant sim type baby ("we found you in the cabbage patch" will be a common saying).

Good lord. It'll be an Anne Geddes EP. *vomits*

ARGH WHY??

The images, the images... *shudders and rocks self to sleep*

[identity profile] simultaneities.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I would LOVE to see an opinionated report. I still haven't made the torrent vs. buy it decision. Perhaps you can sway me.

[identity profile] simultaneities.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, erm, torrent?! Who said that?! Scofflaws.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
Heheh. That's right. ;)

I'm sure I'll have plenty of opinions. For right now, I'm finding the sleeping and "at work" periods of time to be excruciatingly slow and boring. :( The time doesn't move fast enough, even at the maximum speed!

[identity profile] muchluvtoyou.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm installing it as well. I am insanely pumped, even though I feel like I'll be let down.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:28 am (UTC)(link)
Like you, I am both excited and sure I will be somewhat let down. I'm sure it'll be good for a little fun, anyway.

[identity profile] zepheera.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I miss heart farting...

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, me too, but that was added with Nightlife, wasn't it? They'll probably do something like that with Sims 3 too.

[identity profile] cindyanne1.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be installing my TS3 very soon! No beer though... IMMA GONNA HAVE COFFEE. [go]
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
Cool. When will you be reporting back on your findings?

Well, beer is a better bet after supper for me. Coffee would just interfere with my sleep. (Yeah, I know... you don't ever sleep, right? XD)

[identity profile] muslemura.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm lazy (as always) and will wait for reviews - the good, the bad and the glitches - before I get it :P Love to see a report from you too!
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I agree with that angle too, but sometimes it's fun to just hop on the bandwagon too.

I'm not taking it too seriously just yet. I'll play around with my simself until I figure out how it all works and then maybe consider doing something that has story potential (or maybe not... we'll see how it goes).

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
So, do you think you'll like it more if you're drunk or something? :P
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it was just one beer, so I won't really be able to test that theory for you.

[identity profile] applesafter.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
I JUDGE YOU.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
*sheds single tear*

B-but I told you NOT to!

[identity profile] showercapfrog.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's okay, as long as you take pretty pictures and don't abandon us :P

[identity profile] silentsteel.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Hooray! Beer! :D
