I am the centre of the universe: reason no. 85

The Sims 3 has been delayed until August because I am not even close to being mentally ready for it yet. I'm just that important. *snicker* The ego has landed.

Seriously, though, this wouldn't bother me in the least, and I think they should delay it to fix their countless, countless bugs, if they do exist (and, let's face it, they most likely do). However, I do feel bad for people who were getting really excited about it, and even pre-ordered it. *consoles [livejournal.com profile] cindyanne1* There, there. It will be okay.

I wonder if it's true? Seems likely to me. They delayed Spore for ages, didn't they?

I agree. I need more time. Maybe I'll actually be able to get my story to a place where I wouldn't mind making the leap to the new game, or at least do a spin off. (Unlikely, since I'm slow, but possible, since I've been updating more frequently.)

I'm not surprised, and I agree. It may end up getting delayed even more. Do you think they'll try to sell us another SP while we're waiting? That might be a nice consolation prize.

I would actually love a new EP. One for elders/toddlers, with maybe a middle life stage thrown in for good measure. Is that too much to hope for?

I'm just reading your most recent update - I missed it when I had no internet.

I also hope that if it's delayed, they'll actually bugtest correctly and things, but I really think that's an impossible want ;)

I would also love that. Not so much the toddlers, because I think they have enough as it is (more is always nice, though), but elder stuff would rule. I'm imagining such wonderful decorative items now. You wouldn't even believe it.

I would LOVE clothing and hairtyles that look middle aged. Some salt and pepper hair, maybe?

Oh, that's cool. :) Thanks for playing catch up.

Yes, likely an impossible want, like having 10 children, but we can dream, right?

[identity profile] showercapfrog.livejournal.com 2009-01-29 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't want new *stuff* for toddlers, I want new interactions. Huggle is cute and all, but I want...kid interactions. Running around, and falling over, and things.

You could make decorative items for elders :P. I just feel like they're the forgotten life stage, and it upsets me. Salt and pepper hair would be GREAT too, with a few wrinkles. Especially if the wrinkles changed according to personality (now that really is an impossible want), with nice sims having laughter wrinkles, and mean ones having ANGRY wrinkles.

I'll keep dreaming then ;) Cindy got to fulfill her impossible want (almost!)

Yes almost! :P I could still do the "Graduate three children from college" LTW... but it's not really as impossible.

I'm still reeling about the California Octuplets. Whoa. O_o

LMAO. I have been pining for salt-and-pepper hair non-stop ever since I saw this rather dashing younger man with salt-and-pepper hair at the grocery store about 4 days ago. I seriously wish I was better at recoloring hair. :P And I agree, more age stages would be AMAZING. A late adult stage, since with uni we technically already have a young adult. Something to break up the 30 years old to 70 years old leap would be AMAZING.

That sort of thing can be very sexy. *nods*

I also happen to like a little receeding hairline. The game has one option, but it's sort of severe. How about hair for people who are "just a little bit" bald? I want it.

Hmmm... have you tried this one?

(You need an account to see the thread)

I'm currently using it to make Tim Broke look middle aged and coupled with some wrinkles I got from MTS2, it kinda works:

Thanks for the link! ^_^ That's a great piece of cc.

That's a good option, though I still wish there was an option with a little more length in the hair too. I would love to see one on the short, messy mesh that I'm using on Ripp (it does have the suggestion of a slightly receeding hairline anyway, but it's very subtle).

Tim looks great like that! It does make him seem middle aged.

I found a recolor on MTS2 of the Uni ponytail that was black with a grey stripe (it was made for a sim of Xigbar of Kingdom Hearts, if you're curious). That help?

Yes, but they're unlikely to add new interactions in an SP, unless they pull another M&G Stuff.

I just like decorative stuff, and I'd like to see more (and you're wrong, I can't make objects). FT provided some nice things for elders, though, so I'm happy enough with that.

Custom wrinkles would awesome, but it's unlikely, even for Sims 3. I would love to see realistic balding. I know I'm probably in the minority there (A glance at the cc hair for sim men proves it - especially that FtM trend), but I'm a big fan of real men, and they usually go bald.

Hmmm, that's true. Cindy did almost get there. ^_^
