Drabble+: Celibate
Prompt: Celibate
Characters: Ripp Grunt
Wordcount: 343
Warnings: sexual references, language (not that this should come as a surprise)
I thought it would be best to tackle this prompt as soon as possible, while I have a chance to pin Ripp with some semblance of celibacy. It doesn't happen very often, and it probably won't last for very long. As always, it's fun to dive into Ripp's dirty mind. This will eventually be making its way into one of the parts of chapter 28.
With the haircut, he felt like he had let go of much more than just hair. He let go of some of the longing too. Ophelia wanted him, even though she knew almost everything about him, and that made him feel like he might actually be worth a damn. He even found himself almost completely uninterested in getting laid, preferring to spend his time with her. He was celibate, or as close to that as he'd ever be. He wasn't getting any, not from anyone but himself anyway, and he was okay with that. He could have gone out and dragged someone off if he had wanted to, just as he always had, but it didn't appeal to him anymore. It felt hollow... empty. The desire wasn't there. There was only one person who could give him what he really wanted, what he needed, and even just hanging around and waiting for her permission to proceed was more thrilling than getting it from dozens of other women. A simple look from Ophelia was better than being fucked raw by anyone else.
Sometimes he felt like begging her for just a taste of what he might have, one grateful lick, or maybe a whole mouthful. But then he realized that the more he tasted her, the more he hungered, and it would never satisfy him. Even if she let him, and maybe she would if he prodded her, he didn't want to rush into having sex with her. He wanted to do things the right way for once. He didn't want her to have any doubts about his sincerity.
Besides, it would be so much hotter if she came to him first. If Ophelia came to him, wanting him, and asking him for it, he'd respond as if he were on fire and she was the only thing that could quench him. If she pushed him down onto the bed, or any reasonably comfortable surface, and climbed up onto him, he might actually burst into flames. He burned all over even thinking about it.

It should be interesting to work through. Would she just come out and ask him to be exclusive to her? If she does, he might panic, even if he does want that on one level.

I think it would be fun to see her jealous BEFORE something really happened between them. Like being a teen again (when you have a crush on someone but never do anything about it and then get all butthurt when they live their life without you). That would be what really takes her by surprise, finally having these "teen" emotions so late in life (like she paired off with Johnny so quickly and easily that she never did all that dumb teen crap).

The jealousy could happen at the flower shop, and that's probably the best way to do it. Maybe he gets caught up talking to one of the customers and they get really flirty. She could say something or get sort of sulky, and he'd see that it bothers her. He'd probably be thrilled to see that she cares that much. Then they could walk out to that park next to Florence's shop... I keep seeing that over there, and thinking about a bench make out scene. You never know... it's even possible to end up under a bush or something.
That's so true about them missing out on the teen dating experience. They've been all settled down and married-like since they entered puberty (or the sim equivalent, anyway).

*dies and is dead of shock* Gradu. . .wha? What's this. . .this *sounds it out* gra-doo-a-shu, you speak of? *snicker*

I'm going to have fun updating the park with the new AL stuff, since it would only have basegame and OFB stuff in it. There's probably a bunch of other stuff I could add too, like flowers and other outdoor things. Updating the lots of older EPs is always fun.
For real... it's almost graduation time! *snicker* Then Buck and those kids can spend their own eternity at LFT. I need to stop doing these week by week types of chapters.

Maybe that's a way to re-invigorate yourself. Do one of those time jump deals. Perhaps find a way to "stop" the current story (say with some tiny cliff hangers for different characters) and then pick back up a bit down the road.
(a random example--not that I'm trying to take over or whatever: say, after PT dies, Johnny decides to go and work with the aliens--so he leaves the planet for a bit. At the same time. . .hmmm. . .Pascal makes some big breakthrough with Nervous--I'm looking at your banner and trying to tie the main characters together--while Tank realizes his woman is cheating on him and Frances decides to take the plunge and start a relationship with Beau. Then, pause for a bit and pick the story back up with an opening at Ripp and Ophelia's place--living together, all married like but not officially married--and Johnny arriving back home just in time to witness the birth of a child! Or if you didn't want it that dramatic, open with a really random side character, like maybe one of the Curious children who would be college age and heading off to LFT--or maybe Pleasantview or Veronaville's college?--and gossiping with a new friend about some of the goings on in Strangetown. That ushers you right back into ST where you can show the main players "a few years later" maybe with new lovers or children or bustling businesses.)
*snerk* Can you tell I've toyed with this thing for my own story?

I am going to go from the current time to graduation in one chapter, so that's jumping by about a year. I don't think I'm going to do quite as much of a time jump as you suggested after that, but it will likely be something similar, if not quite as dramatic a jump. I'm not completely sure.
The thing about a time jump is you can always fill in some of the missing details later if you want to or have to, so that reduces my reluctance to skip over anything that might be good. I should probably be more reckless with it.
If you're toying with the idea, maybe you should try it too. We have to get through these epics somehow. *snicker*

I also have some as-yet-unseen characters who won't get TOO much face time before the "ending" so I can give tales from them. Or taking characters and moving them to other Maxis towns and making stories about them there (nothing epic, though, I think I have that about out of my system).
But I won't do any major time jumps before the "ending" (which, now that I'm looking at it in this new light, could be moved up or back depending on my mood--I just don't want it to be TOO rushed).

I like the idea of doing random short stories set in the same world after you clue up the story. It would be very cool to see something form the community too, since it seems like you have it really well worked out.

I can't wait to see how this all falls together. Also I adore how much he loves her (and Johnny too).

As for what might happen after they sleep together, he'd probably follow her cue, since he wouldn't want to upset her. Phi is used to the idea that Ripp does that, but she might feel differently once they're together. And if she doesn't ask him not to screw around, Ripp might also feel like he's not as important to her as Johnny is, so maybe he'd actually want her to demand that of him too, and try to get that reaction out of her.

All this building up with the trio's dynamics really has me wondering how it's all going to work out once they graduate.........whenever that happens. :P

Soon... they graduate soon. ;) No joke.

I'm sure that first time with Ophelia if and WHEN it happens ;) will be something to remember! :D

I'm sure it will be too... IF it happens. :P (Oh, who am I kidding...)

Johnny is actually out of the apartment quite a bit, and they do have the job at the flower shop together, so I don't think it would be a problem to find some alone time if they wanted to.
As for telling Johnny or him finding out, you'll have to wait and see what happens...

I took that line from a guy I knew in college. He said he did it before every date he went on because it took the edge off. It cracks me up, but it makes a lot of sense too. Things are more stable and lasting on the second go-round, and he wouldn't be pushing for it as much either. He was a pretty clever guy, I figure. :P
