Hard drive failure is imminent...

Yeah, that's right - imminent. That's exactly what my computer said.

Sweating? Who's sweating?

I'm not sweating, I'm BACKING UP my game. What else would I do at a time like this? Oh good. It's all copied over to the external hard drive... cc and all. I can breath again now.

I called tech. support, and they're sending me everthing I need to package up the hard drive to send it off to be replaced, which is awesome. In the meantime, I was told to back up anything I don't want to lose. I wonder if he could hear my blood turning to ice when he gave me that line.

At least Ripp finds it funny... this icon is going to serve me well during hard times.

0.0 Wow, that's insane. At least your computer warned you?

That's what I was going to say, "It warned you?"

That's downright POLITE.

Well, it IS a Canadian computer... *snicker* We're all about politeness, right?

At first it froze at one of the start-up screens, so I called tech. support right away, as is my nature - I don't trust myself to figure it out on my own, nor do I have the patience to mess around with computer issues for long.

Then, while they were redirecting my call, I got one of those detailed screens with all the computer specs on it, and at the bottom is a gentle notice that FAILURE IS IMMINENT! *cue foreboding music*

I agree. It's scary, but at least I have some time to prepare. The computer might hold on for a while, really, but I have no idea when it might die.

I know. My computer is a kindly sort.
