Sims Talk: Question about Pregnancy and University

I have a couple of questions. I know that I can use InSIM to make a YA sim pregnant while at university, but how does one go about having the baby? If a sim got knocked up, and then dropped out of uni, would they still be pregnant and have the baby normally once they transitioned? Can you do it at any stage in the pregnancy (or do you have to do it before they "pop")? I heard that you can't move the baby, once born, unless you age them to teen, which is not good for a story, but moving out a pregnant sim would be perfect if it works. I tried to find the answer to this question on my own, but my searching only unearthed the answer, "you can't get pregnant at uni unless you use a hack", which I already knew. I need more detail, and I know that someone reading this must already know the answer. I really appreciate your help!

Why do I ask? Oh, no reason... *wink* Just weighing my options.

What if you had the baby in Uni, aged them to teen and moved them out, then aged them back to a baby again?

You should be able to move them out aging may cause a suspension of the pregnancy though so you may need to reset it via Tombstone once back in the main hood. Changing lots generally causes some pregnancy issues, either suspension or premature 'pops'.

If you have InTeen, your sims can get pregnat at Uni, and when they leave college, the baby will come with them.

I say practice it on a sim you don't care about.

I'd go into a completely different hood and run an experiment to see if you can get a YA to look preggo. Really all you need to do is get pics of the sim preggo. Then you could abort the pregnancy, do all the moving and restart the pregnancy once they move out.

Or, if it doesn't work out, have an implied pregnancy. Show the sim sick and then show them moved out and visibly preggo (or move them out and invite them to the college lot, the difference in looks between YA and adult is small, as long as they have the same hair/makeup you should be able to fake it).

I wonder if you can find a preggo mesh, like the preggo teen mesh. That would be ideal. All the makings of pregnancy without the fuss.

I think madame_ugly is right. Try it out on someone first to see. I've had a YA get pregnant no prob, but I ended the pregnancy. Hmm.....I must say thou, I am also somewhat interested in the answer to this question.

And GOD WOMAN!!!!!! Could you be anymore of a tease?!?!?! GEEZ!!!!

*Raises hand* I had a sim get pregnant in uni, and I was able to move her out (while pregnant) and make her have the baby as an adult no problem. The only change I noticed was that she suddenly skipped to her third trimester for no real reason, but she and her babies are all fine and glitch-less. Of course, I had inTeen installed when this happened, so I don't know if it'll work the same way without it :/

Yes I can personally vouch that male YA's who get abducted have a suspended pregnancy during their time at Uni, then pop after you graduate them/drop them out and move them into a lot in the home neighborhood. My Edwin Sharpe had twins thata way, lol. (wink)

I'm SURE it would also work for a female YA. I can test it for you to see if you'd like. I have a YA at Uni right now who needs to drop out and go home to live in shame. (hee hee, snort)

Because of all the "NO DON'T DO IT, IT WILL CAUSE VERY BAD THINGS" that I've heard about doing that I would suggest to just act like the sim is pregnant, take her out of uni and then actually get her pregnant. Just so it's safer for your game, in case you're that 1% or whatever that the game implodes on from doing this. :)

Yep, it works!

Here's my test sim, Corrine. Isn't she cute?

Photobucket

I used the Insim to make her pregnant by her boyfriend, and then just for shits and giggles, also used it to force the first belly pop (since I'm not sure it would do it naturally.)

Photobucket

"Um, Daddy? I'm in a little bit of trouble here and I need to come home..."

Photobucket

Here she is as she transitioned. You can see she still has the baby bump!

Photobucket

Here she is leaving the dorm, still sporting that bump!

In the Sim Bin back in Strangetown, she was dressed in Maxis maternity clothes. I dropped her into her father's house and here she is as I first re-entered the lot, wearing Maxis maternity clothes and looking nine months along, lol.

Photobucket

But one Sim hour later, she popped back into the 2nd trimester, and from here I assume she will have a normal pregnancy.

Hope this helps!!

Oh sweet! I saw your post just before I left (I took my sister to her job interview, so I spent almost three hours inside the car waiting for her :P) and now that I'm back I find a pregnancy pool going on here! :D

I've never tried to get a YA pregnant. I was even afraid of messing up my game when I sent Cosmo to college, and I needed to control him for a "scene" at his house. So, instead of using the original Cosmo, I made a clone :P.

But back to the pool thing... I'm placing my bet on either Frances getting abducted or Tank (with the girl from the party or by aliens... it makes no sense but it'd be hilarious!). It could be Jill too, but with who?

I love to speculate! :P

I had a pregnant university student (see icon), I just moved her out to her own house and let her have the baby. I have Inteen though so I'm not sure how that affects everything but it went fine. And by the time she was finished university her son was a teen and she graduated and he just went with her in the car. :D

So I think you'll be fine. :P

Also...PLEASE let it be Jill and Ripp!! *please* :D :D *crosses fingers* That would make my whole year.

...yes I have no life. Do not mock me. :P

*gasp*

Oooooo....

*curiosity almost getting the better of me*

I have nothing useful to add (I've never tried getting a student pregnant), just that I'm really, really, really looking forward to see what this question might signify ;)

Okay, that's it. This is officially the worst tease EVER!
Like the others, I can see many people being the likely candidate for a college pregnancy. I'm not placing any bets though!

I too love planning "oopsies". They're so fun and they add so much drama! :P
