Sims Talk: Question about Pregnancy and University

I have a couple of questions. I know that I can use InSIM to make a YA sim pregnant while at university, but how does one go about having the baby? If a sim got knocked up, and then dropped out of uni, would they still be pregnant and have the baby normally once they transitioned? Can you do it at any stage in the pregnancy (or do you have to do it before they "pop")? I heard that you can't move the baby, once born, unless you age them to teen, which is not good for a story, but moving out a pregnant sim would be perfect if it works. I tried to find the answer to this question on my own, but my searching only unearthed the answer, "you can't get pregnant at uni unless you use a hack", which I already knew. I need more detail, and I know that someone reading this must already know the answer. I really appreciate your help!

Why do I ask? Oh, no reason... *wink* Just weighing my options.

OH SHIT. I didn't even THINK of that.

Ooooh, even better. . .

Well if he'd still been married it would have broken that tie but he originally died before his wife did. Ressurection breaks the marriage ties so it would show that A married B and had child, C, but once A and B died, if they were both brought back they would recognize C as their child but you would have to get A and B to fall in love again and get married.
His children were still recognized as his and his grandchildren, so anything they did, like have another baby or when the grandkids made the dean's list in college, he'd get the memories of that. If I could have simply made a clone of him then he would have started with a clean slate. I could have just started him out as an adult, put him on an empty lot and still aged him back and let the social worker take him. Since he was adopted they did show as his parents, if I remember correctly.

I was surprised that nobody thought of that, really. ;) It is a possibility, isn't it?

Though, is it very likely? Are Jill and Buck THAT adventurous?

Now you're thinking. I was hoping if anyone would see this (unlikely, yet still possible) possibility. I did.

Bring on the drama!

Predictable can be good. But is it TOO predictable? Hmmm...

Hah! I had *just* thought of it, and was sure someone had beat me to it!

Well... I was thinking more along the lines of Jill expressing without being inside of him- like maybe that's how she found out she could even *do* that. (You know, like how a woman can be impregnated without being penetrated, if the semen/pre-cum is close enough to be brushed in by hand or leg or whatever).

Yes, it's definitely possible, just as you described, but how easily it could happen would depend on exactly how it works with the alien biology. Like if it's any fluid at all that can impregnate, or something very specific, and how far it needs to travel into the host's body. These are all factors that would determine exactly how involved their activity would have to be for it to happen.

Stella mentioned that it is unlikely for female half aliens to impregnate other sims, but it was possible. She didn't explain exactly what needs to take place for it to occur. (Of course, Jill doesn't know that either, so she wouldn't have any idea about how to prevent it.)

That seems like a lot of work for one oopsie baby, though. Going the "classic" (ie girl is preggo) route would be easier. AND I don't see the same amount of drama potential (from PT). Seeing his sweet Jill all knocked up? SHOCKING!

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I say it's not too predictable. The PT factor keeps it original.

And quite frankly, I think it works for Jill.

Okay, that's it. This is officially the worst tease EVER!
Like the others, I can see many people being the likely candidate for a college pregnancy. I'm not placing any bets though!

I too love planning "oopsies". They're so fun and they add so much drama! :P

Now, see... I didn't even think this was even really that much of a tease. *snicker* It's all still very much an idea I'm juggling around, and nothing definite. That's probably why there are a number of likely candidates. And this might happen at any point in the story. It's not necessarily going to happen right away, if it does happen (how very cryptic).

The game just begs me to have illegitimate love children popping up all over the place. I LOVE it. I have to keep that under control in Strangetown, since going overboard with pregnancies wouldn't make any sense. I have to use restraint. Or try to...

Nah I know, I was just kidding. It still makes me pretty curious though.

I love it too! Especially if they're alien ones. But yeah, I try to keep that under control as well. That's why I try to stop Lazlo from trying to use the telescope all the time! Two brothers having alien babies are enough in the Curious household; I don't need five babies in a place that can barely fit three.

The best thing about writing this story is that I can really go overboard with alien children, and it will still make perfect sense in the storyline. *grin*

That's true! Anything can happen in Strangetown, after all! ;P
...I think I've become a bit overboard with alien children myself. Hopefully I'll be able to get to them soon in my story because they're so awesome!
