So... I borrowed The Chrysalids and The Day of the Triffids from a friend, and now I'm sort of hooked on reading John Wyndham. These are great books. If you haven't read them, I'd highly recommend checking them out. I'm going to have to seek out more of his stuff, I think.

Hmm. Now why do I have the sudden urge to make S,HWC more post-apocalyptic? ;)

I'm really, really enjoying his stuff, so I'll join you in that dance of joy. Do you have a recommendation for which of his books I should try next? I get a good feeling from The Midwich Cuckoos, so that was next on my list. I think I'm going to have to make a trip to the library (which is just down the hill from our new house — WooHOO)!
