Sims 3: no-jealousy hacks?

Does anyone know if there is a no-jealousy hack for Sims 3 yet? Ideally, I'd like to have something that modifies it, rather than completely takes it away, but I'll settle for anything right now. Sims 3 sims may not lose as many relationship points with a jealousy hit, but they even know when someone is "cheating" (a bit of a silly concept when there's no commitment involved, if you ask me) when they're in another room or fast asleep. It's kinda lame that you can't even sneak around very well, and it's making it difficult to run my household of three.

Speaking of...

Here's a random shot of a night out on the town.

Aww, cute picture!

I have no idea about the no jealousy hack, but I know that the Awesomemod has an optional setting for jealousy. I really don't know how it works, though:

. Use Awesome Jealousy Code [Optional - Default: Enabled]
Uses one of AwesomeMod's jealousy routines. Required if you want to use
any of the optional settings relating to this.

Hmmm, I didn't know about that. Is it a newer addition?

Knowing how Pescado's Sims 2 romance/marriage mods work, it probably increases jealousy. Since it doesn't seem to be very well-explained, I'd be a little nervous to add it.

While we're on the topic, you said you've been using ACR 2.0, right? How do you like it? I was a little foggy on the gender preference changes in the read me. Are they temporarily unavailable with that version?

That's why I have the jealousy option disabled right now (well, it's not like I'm really playing with the Sims 3. Haven't loaded it in weeks!). I don't like to use mods that I have no idea how they are supposed to work. I never understood the romance mod, after all :P.

ACR 2.0. works fine so far. I haven't really explored all the options, but I've had no trouble with my sims carrying on their romance on their own. They use the new interactions and everything. What I've noticed is that it's WAY more customizable, including gender preference. It also includes something called "Friend Zone" that prevents the sims involved from falling in love (for example, if you have two couples in the same house, they'd stay only as friends with the other couple). You can also select how many kids would you like your sim to have on their own (ideal number of kids).

I've only been playing with ACR 2.0 for a week, but if I notice something odd with the gender preference and jealousy, I'll let you know.

Wow I hadn't heard of ACR 2.0... I'll have to hunt it down and check it out! :D

I might give it a shot anyway. I'm not attached to my Sims 3 game enough to worry about messing it up at this point. I suppose I should extract the sims I've made. I haven't even bothered to look up how to do it yet.

Okay, well that's encouraging. I was getting the impression that gender preference had been left out of ACR 2.0 for the time being, but that's good to hear. I'm really liking the "friend zone" idea, and the ability to select the limit on children.

Maybe I'll go ahead and add it.

With awesomemod I noticed that he seems to make edits to it every once in a while.

I am just learning how to muck around with it.

Yeah, he does, and I haven't bothered to check in a while, so that's news to me.

I'm not entirely sure it's even working in my game yet, to be honest. I've probably forgotten to do some simple little thing to enable it.

There's an awesomemod configuration tool so you can choose what you want to have an affect. Here's the link, the jealousy thing is towards the bottom under Gameplay Features: Romance and Perversion

Yeah, I've been using that (though honestly, I don't think the awesomemod has been working in my game, most likely due to some small detail in the setup that I've missed). I haven't checked back since the jealousy feature was added, is all.

Thanks for the link, all the same. ^_^

I have to ask: Is S,HWC fully converting to TS3? Or are you just messing around with sims that you know and like best?

In a word, no. I have no intention of doing that at the moment. I'm just playing around with them, like you said.

[identity profile] cindyanne1.livejournal.com 2009-07-08 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I do have the awesomemod, but I have no idea how it works. I'm not even sure if it *is* working, since I don't have that other file he says you have to have to use it. O_o

A no-jealousy mod is definitely needed with your trio there! ;) Hopefully it won't be too long before someone makes a stand-alone no-jealousy hack.

Heheh. I'd imagine that it probably isn't working if you didn't get the framework. I can't see how it would be.

Yeah, I hope so. I'd love to see something as detailed as ACR, which gives a nice spin on the jealousy in relation to aspiration and personality, but I imagine that it'd be a lot harder to create that for Sims 3, with the more complex trait system.

The resource.cfg? You just extract it from the framework zip (it`s in the same page as awesomemod) and drop it in your Programs/Electronic Arts/Sims3 directory.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah, but it doesn't cause them to hate each other after five minutes. It's a more manageable sort of jealousy. ;)

Cool. I'll check it out. Ophelia/Humble? As in a romantic pairing? I'm curious, to say the least.

[identity profile] petchy-14.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
Er.. No, it's still *Your* Ophelia and *your* Rod Humble :D
I have totally bent her backstory though, so I guess I'll just put that down for "Artistic Licence"! (LOL)

Heeheehee. That's exactly what they're saying, I bet.
