Strangetown extras: Transitions

Since I know that I could use a good laugh right now, I thought I would share these funny transition photos with you. Sure, I could save them for outtakes, and avoid breaking up chapter twenty two, but you know what? I'm going to do it anyway. Why not?

One day, I will transition into an outfit that is so cool that it will hurt your eyes...

Let's make a contest out of it, shall we?

Round One

Verdict: Not too bad. I would award Ophelia the prize for the best outfit, since it seems character appropriate as well as tasteful. Sorry Ripp. That's a great blazer (and you really do clean up well), but you blew it on the "staying in character" part of this challenge. Johnny gets bonus points for awesomeness and matching (I think that's a two-piece outfit, right?), but again... try to stick to character, J (or is that in character? I'm not entirely convinced that he wouldn't wear that). And Jayne, as much as I don't buy into things like "blue and green should never be seen", I have to tell you that those two colours do not go together AT ALL. And the turquoise track pants with heels have yet to convince me of their right to exist.

Round Two

Verdict: *snort* At least Johnny can take Cruella De Vil, aka Jayne, to the gala in fine style. (Jayne also got new hair for this shoot, thanks to the return of an annoying hair mesh issue, which required me to delete my hair download folder again.) Ophelia gets some credit for choosing a dress, which I can definitely see her wearing, but the pink seems a bit too girly (don't go crazy, Phi). Ripp somehow managed to win this round, since he seemed to pull that look off pretty well, even though he is not actually an intrepid explorer who owns his own small plane.

Round Three

Verdict: Put on some clothes! (Love the expressions in this pic. *snort*)

That's better (though I did enjoy the leopard print shorts, Ripp).

Verdict: Wait, this really isn't better. I appreciate that Ophelia is not afraid to make a bold colour statement, and there's nothing exactly wrong with her outfit, but there's nothing really right about it either. It's kinda bland. Kinda soccer mom. Johnny is just all over the map with these transitions! But he isn't convincing me with this attempt to look badass. Sure, Johnny, sure. And Ripp seems half right - the top half. But cargo pants in military green? I don't think so. So, the winner is... nobody.

Well, my mood has improved considerably. *snicker* This makes me look forward to the day that they actually do transition to adult. So many bad outfits to pick from... it's like Russian roulette for clothing.

Hmmm, I wonder why I was age transitioning them with InSIM? Only time will tell... *wink*

The next part of chapter twenty two should arrive sometime this week, but I'm feeling extremely unmotivated right now, so we'll see how it goes. Part of the reason is that it is now three parts instead of two, and the rest of the reason boils down to the fact that it's February, which is never my best month.

HILARIOUS! I love that you just posted transition after transition of the same characters! The second pic easily has the most win.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!

I swear EA put in coding that forces the game to give sims the most tacky outfit possible when they transition.

Not motivated? My unending love isn't enough to get you to update? *sniff* And three parts? This is going to be one hell of a party, isn't it?

I always have this game of, "Let's see how much I can cringe at the transition clothes." Looks like for the most part, Ophelia did really well though. Can't wait til your next update.

Hope your Feb gets better soon. Mine's been mediocre too.

not bad! not a bra with mesh over it or nightlife raver outfit in sight...

[identity profile] lovelysims.livejournal.com 2008-02-20 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
haaha. I love the stuff they change into. Sometimes I leave them in it cause either it fits or I'm like: "Hey, if thats what you want!"

It's not a bad maxis dress up without those goddamn track pants/heels (and the pants are turquoise--a just not good color). *scrolls back up* I was going to say at least she picked a good top but. . .yeah, cardigan? Not so much. (though I had a sim get one of those crop top with the boob diamond cut out with The Track Pants--ooh, so hideous).

No 50's priss outfits, either (to go with another comment of no bra with mesh tops). The shoes on the priss dress are just too much, with those ankle bows. Good lord.

And you didn't get the raver "boy purse" either. That's classy.

(I'm so waiting to see one of my sims transition into one of the custom "untuckable" pants that have the cutout belly and a tucked shirt--that'll make my eyes bleed)

*snort*

Great pictures *giggle*

Hope your February gets better soon 'cause these teasers are driving me crazy. (WannaknowwhathappensNOW! ;) I'm not much of a winter person either but at least the days are getting noticeably lighter!

Oh my gosh that was so funny! I'm glad it improved your mood! It did mine too, lol! I've been practically out of commission these last few days working on taxes with the occasional break to be a milk bar. (we farm so our taxes need to be done by March 1 in order to avoid paying quarterly estimated tax.) UGGHH! But I'm nearly done! I read the first part of Chapter 22 as well and it's awesome, as usual. Ripp and Stella are just so adorable together, and I'm really feeling for Johnny and his dilemma!

Now you've got me wondering why you were transitioning those particular characters, lol! Hmmmm....

I've never paid much attention to what my sims transition into. I'll have to start noticing more. Funny!

Can't wait for more, although I completely understand the motivation issue. Life has a tendency to rear its ugly head sometimes! ((hugs))

LMAO. Oh these are amusing!!! :D

And ooo....why were you??? O.O Very intriguing. ;)

And I'm looking forward to the next installment whenever you do get it finished. :)

I'd have to agree, Maxis MUST have encoded the tacky dressing for transitions, it happens just a little TO often for it to be random!!! And I'd love to know who thought that the turquoise track pants had any right to exist in the first place. I vote we track them down and make him/her wear them!!! Poor sims.

pleasepleaseplease tell me there's an update scheduled in the next day or so! I'm moving on Friday and I won't be able to get my Strangetown fix for over a week!!! *wants to see the par-tay!*

Awesomeness as usual, keep up the great work!

Man, Johnny got some fancy 'jamas! I love that whole set of PJs. It's one of a few pieces of clothing that's actually got me envious of the Sims. It's not just silk, it's *thick* silk. Mmmm. Sooooft. Waaaaarm.
...
*goes to get hot cocoa and slippers*

Ooh, Ophelia is full of win for transitions. I think she did manage to stay in character the most! :D

I LOL-ed at Jayne wearing that enormous fur coat. She doesn't even eat meat, why would she wear an animal's fur?!
