I'll never look at housework the same way again.

I learned something new and interesting tonight. My SO and I were listening to Scene Creamers on our i-pod, and they have this song called Housework for Three, right? I couldn't help but notice that the song was obviously about a threesome ("housework for three, nice work if you're the one in between"), so I started musing on how housework could possibly be sexual innuendo (I've used "polishing the brass" before, so I figured it was there somewhere). Then my SO informs me that "menage" actually means "housework" in French, as well as "household." (He did French immersion in school and his maternal grandmother was French.) In Kindergarten, the teacher used to announce that it was "time for menage" and they would clean up the classroom.

It sort of puts a new spin on Johnny's constant insistence that Ripp should partake in doing more housework with him and Phi, don't you think? If he's doing a French course in uni, he could be in for a shock (and Ripp would be all over THAT kind of housework).

That's DELICIOUS. LOL forever. If Johnny ever found out, he'd be pissed. Or feeling silly. :P

LMAO! I knew what menage a trois was, but didn't realise it actually meant housework. Damn, now I'm wondering how the word menage got twisted to mean sex :P

LOL! Ripp would tease him until the end of time if he realized the other meaning of Johnny's constant nagging :D.

Unless Johnny already knew that (and was doing it on purpose). Now that would be a shock for Ripp! XD

Maybe Johnny has been dropping hints this whole time and Ripp just hasn't picked up on them? Poor, poor Johnny. The object of his affections is too uncultured to pick up on his true desires.

Such a tragedy!

;_;

And now I shall go suggest to everyone that we do housework together.

LMAO. That is hilarious. I'm a french immersion student, and I never made the connection. Now that I think about it, I did know in the back of my mind that menage meant housework, but... Well, I guess that goes to say that my mind isn't totally in the gutter. XD

Oh, Johnny. I love that's he's been the one suggesting it all along. :D

I think Johnny KNOWS what it means... it's his secret little joke. ;)

Haha, I didn't know that! And I studied French for a while, too (and I plan to get back it as soon as I finish this year). And yes, it's definitely something good for Ripp. :)

In fact, ménage means "cleaning" but if you say "un ménage à trois", it means a threesome. ^^

*snerk* Pascal's cleaning obsession takes on a new meaning for me now, too.

Yay, I learned something new!
