Default replacements are sometimes amusing to me.

Finally! I can have a purple school bus in my game, just like the one I went to school on when I was a kid. It's about friggin' time.

The same creator also made a pizza default replacement (!!!!). How do people even conceive of such awesomely random cc?

P.S. Hands up if you've ever missed the school bus. I still have bad dreams where I'm trying to get ready in time, but everything I touch turns to fail. Clothing? Falling apart or dirty (or missing altogether). Finding a way out of the house? Impossible. Random people who approach you to distract you? Many. Tests you didn't study for? All of them. Man, I hate those dreams.

Oh wow, those are super cool! You had a purple bus for school??? I had a boring yellow one, but I am sooo putting that pink one in my game! Thanks for sharing that. :)

I didn't catch the bus very often, but once when I was in grade one, I was too busy talking, and missed my stop. My brother and sister got off, but somehow forgot me. I got off at the next stop which was only about two blocks or so from home (but the bus route went up behind my street, so it wasn't in a straight line), but I was hysterical. One of the older girls on the bus walked me home, and my mother had already called the school to double check that I'd gotten on and wasn't stuck at school.

I thought I was never going to get home again!! I was somewhat melodramatic.

Was the bus REALLY purple? That's amazing.

I walked to elementary school, and took MASS TRANSIT to get to Middle and High School. I never went on a school bus. :(

I thought I would include this download in today's Finds but then got too tired. At least somebody pointed it out. :)

Riiide the magic bus. . .I want it. . .I want it. . .I want it.

*cackling* I have missing the bus dreams all the damn time. And, if I manage to make it to the bus I'm always barefoot. Come to think of it, I have recurring dreams a lot. One involves a really bizarre mall, people I went to school with, and a rather evil pet shop.

Sweet! There's an orange school bus too! That's the one I went to school on back on elementary school. By Junior High, I moved to a school close to home, so I just walked a couple blocks to get there.

There are some awesome replacements, indeed! But so far the most original one is the vomit replacement (which I didn't download because puke is one of the things that makes me ill. I can't stand the sight of it!).

That is awesome. And totally makes sense since well... you know... why should Sims have a yellow bus? They're sims; they live in a different world!

I can remember missing the bus only a few times, but it wasn't ever traumatic. My mother was a stay at home mom and I was the youngest kid (and there was only two of us) so really all it meant was Mom rushing to comb her hair and get dressed before she'd drive us to school. I do remember it felt weird walking in on those days though!

We're fortunate enough that my kids' bus goes up our road, and then at some point turns around and comes back 10 minutes later. The kids are "supposed" to board the first time through, but there have been exactly two times they missed it and I sent them out to see if they could be picked up on the return trip. :P It worked, lol.

LOLOL PERFECT for rainbow legacies! XD

I used to miss the bus all the time. One time my Mom made me walk to school(it was several miles) and another she took me in my Grandma's beat up farm truck(holes in the floorboards!). Lemme tell you something, I didn't miss the bus again for a year. I didn't have dreams about missing the bus. I had dreams about my Mom or Grandma driving that truck into the middle of my classroom to tell me they'd be coming to get me after school. Yes, I have a strange brain I know.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME REACTION! I saw the pizza and was like, "WTF DEFAULT PIZZA REPLACEMENT? Why would anyone ever want that?" and then my eyes moved a little bit down and I suddenly changed to, "OMG LIME GREEN SCHOOL BUS! WANT!". LOL. It was truly an amazing moment.

[identity profile] catladymeow.livejournal.com 2009-01-23 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
I just HAD to have that purple school bus! It is awesome.
I also had dreams about missing the school bus when i was younger. I've not had that dream in a while now. What I do dream about tho is stairs and elevators that do not work right.

I saw those just yesterday - great idea, maybe I should have a lime green bus for my sim kids XD

I never rode the bus to school - my mom was a teacher so I drove to school with her until I was old enough to ride my bike - but I do keep _almost_ missing the bus when I'm going places now :/ No dreams though *LOL*

LOL!!! I was shocked about the purple bus!! :P
So aint' true!??

Good thing for me, I grow up on a country where there's no such thing as school buses (tho some people do run some kind of private 'school transport' in vans and such, but no buses).

I understand it depends on the circumstances, but I always shiver seeing kids waiting for a buz alone on corner 7am in the morning on my hood, when I know their parents could be dropping them off instead.
No way! my daughter is 15 and even tho i live now here where buses are kind of the 'big' thing, she had never needed one, never she will either! If I can drop her off and pick her up, then I'll keep doing it. True it means running all morning long to be there at the right hours, but hey! its MY child!? isn't it!?? its the least I can do imo *shrug* (and she'll never have nightmares about missing the bus either!! lol)

I had a black school bus, No seriously, I live in England where schools get a cheap bus and paint the school logo on it. So mine was black with a yellow dragon-thing.

Sorry, you've no idea who I am and I will now procede to go back to lurking. But something about the buses made me really want to comment.

Probably 'cos I have to deal with them five days a week.

We have school buses only in countryside and since I live in a city, I have always wondered what's it like to drive to school with a school bus. Must be kind of tough since it adds another place where you have to declare your social status (whether you're the cool one or have to sit with the dorks:)?

A creepy thing happened a few months ago, it was all over the newspapers to warn other children and parents. A kid was being dropped off to school by her mother. She got out of the car and had to walk about 100 meters to school, when a van stopped at her side and a man behind the wheel asked to give her a lift to the school door. Luckily the little girl was wise enough to refuse. Who knows where she might have been ended if she hadn't.
