Lurk no more...

Did you know that today is Delurking Day out there in the blogosphere?

That's right. So, let this be an invitation to anyone who'd like to introduce themselves and say hi. You know I'd love to hear from you. No pressure, of course, but you may as well delurk on Delurking Day, right? Come one, come all. Get a conversation started. I'm all ears.

This was a great day for me. I made some real progress on the next update, and there was RL good news all over the place. I was asked to interview for a job that had over 50 applicants and was pleasantly surprised to be offered another job that will stretch my experience significantly. I was also asked to be a bridesmaid in my "brother"s wedding this summer (actually a cousin, but we grew up together like siblings). I'd fully expect to win the lottery too, but I don't actually ever buy tickets.

Now, I should go out there and delurk too, shouldn't I?

I like how you basically do nothing at all, but I HATE icebreaker activities. It's always awkward and full of weird small talk with people you don't know and ick.

I did try a Nervous a bit ago (never scanned it, because it was sucky), but I should try again. Franny too. And YES to more JRO - that's a given.

Oh GOD, I hate icebreakers. If I'm ever in the position to put others through that, I'm going to come up with something a little better than just going around the room and telling something about yourself. Once I has to state my favourite book and I could NOT do it. *snicker* I felt like a weirdo.

Nervous strikes me as hard to draw. I'd have a hard time with him. I'll bet my SO could do something interesting with him, if he could get past his instant dislike for his looks (he's frequently made a point to say how ugly he is, over my shoulder, and the mohawk probably doesn't help).

I'm taking a rather low level Psych and for the ice breaker we had to introduce a partner and say something that they valued and how we know and it was just odd. I wasn't really sure how we were really suppose to find out what someone valued from talking to them for two minutes. Bleh.

Nervous is tough to draw, he's sad, but very sharply cut? It's difficult making him look strong and sad at the same time. Also timid. :\

You're supposed to use your Psych abilities, I guess? That sounds even more uncomfortable than telling something about yourself. It's almost better to introduce someone else, but what if you mess up the details?

He does have a lot of details and hard edges, and you're right about the problem with making him seem to be all those different things. I think maybe it would be best to make him seem slightly nervous (teehee) and unstable.
