Drabble+: Celibate
Prompt: Celibate
Characters: Ripp Grunt
Wordcount: 343
Warnings: sexual references, language (not that this should come as a surprise)
I thought it would be best to tackle this prompt as soon as possible, while I have a chance to pin Ripp with some semblance of celibacy. It doesn't happen very often, and it probably won't last for very long. As always, it's fun to dive into Ripp's dirty mind. This will eventually be making its way into one of the parts of chapter 28.
With the haircut, he felt like he had let go of much more than just hair. He let go of some of the longing too. Ophelia wanted him, even though she knew almost everything about him, and that made him feel like he might actually be worth a damn. He even found himself almost completely uninterested in getting laid, preferring to spend his time with her. He was celibate, or as close to that as he'd ever be. He wasn't getting any, not from anyone but himself anyway, and he was okay with that. He could have gone out and dragged someone off if he had wanted to, just as he always had, but it didn't appeal to him anymore. It felt hollow... empty. The desire wasn't there. There was only one person who could give him what he really wanted, what he needed, and even just hanging around and waiting for her permission to proceed was more thrilling than getting it from dozens of other women. A simple look from Ophelia was better than being fucked raw by anyone else.
Sometimes he felt like begging her for just a taste of what he might have, one grateful lick, or maybe a whole mouthful. But then he realized that the more he tasted her, the more he hungered, and it would never satisfy him. Even if she let him, and maybe she would if he prodded her, he didn't want to rush into having sex with her. He wanted to do things the right way for once. He didn't want her to have any doubts about his sincerity.
Besides, it would be so much hotter if she came to him first. If Ophelia came to him, wanting him, and asking him for it, he'd respond as if he were on fire and she was the only thing that could quench him. If she pushed him down onto the bed, or any reasonably comfortable surface, and climbed up onto him, he might actually burst into flames. He burned all over even thinking about it.

I am going to go from the current time to graduation in one chapter, so that's jumping by about a year. I don't think I'm going to do quite as much of a time jump as you suggested after that, but it will likely be something similar, if not quite as dramatic a jump. I'm not completely sure.
The thing about a time jump is you can always fill in some of the missing details later if you want to or have to, so that reduces my reluctance to skip over anything that might be good. I should probably be more reckless with it.
If you're toying with the idea, maybe you should try it too. We have to get through these epics somehow. *snicker*

I also have some as-yet-unseen characters who won't get TOO much face time before the "ending" so I can give tales from them. Or taking characters and moving them to other Maxis towns and making stories about them there (nothing epic, though, I think I have that about out of my system).
But I won't do any major time jumps before the "ending" (which, now that I'm looking at it in this new light, could be moved up or back depending on my mood--I just don't want it to be TOO rushed).

I like the idea of doing random short stories set in the same world after you clue up the story. It would be very cool to see something form the community too, since it seems like you have it really well worked out.
