Another teaser... with CLONES!

New chapter update soon. This time, I promise you. It's getting so, so close, but then I keep adding some extra detail like a brief flashback of Bjorn Beaker, which required me to create him in CAS (for one shot). Anyway, it's nearly there. I'll get some more work done on it tonight, and then maybe post it tommorrow. W00t!

It's Barbie Erin and the clones! With makeovers! They have names now too, but I'll save something for the update. ;)

I love how she's in the centre, as the cheerful leader of their odd little family.

OMG you put her in exactly the same dress I did, lol! That dress just begs for her to wear it, doesn't it? :D

The Nervous clones are so awesome. I love the blond one and the female. So creative... like the experiment went awry or maybe they were trying to get something "else" out of Nervous and ended up flip flopping things either by accident or on purpose. Sort of like that scene in Alien Resurrection when Ripley walks into that room and finds all of those failed clones of herself and the birth queen alien that they'd kept. Creepy but so dang interesting at the same time! :D

Can't wait for the new chapter! *bounces*

Yes, the dress is perfect for Erin, but I change her clothes and hair a lot, unlike most of the characters. She just strikes me as that sort of girl. Her wardrobe has every pink article of clothing I could find.

I've never seen the Alien movies. Could that be why I'm ripping them off without even knowing it? :P It's sort of the same idea, though. None of the clones were completely successful. Only one has his exact aspiration, and only two have his exact personality stats. There's something a lttle off about each of them. The female clone is actually the most like Nervous, aside from her sex.

LOL.

When can we expect a new post? The waiting is killing me!
Guess I need to slow down and read more...
:P

PS
Where did you get that dress that Erin's wearing? Does it come in AL?

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it comes with AL. There's a number of really nice dresses there. There are also a lot of really questionable outfits with too much midriff showing, as usual. :P

[identity profile] amaryssobellus.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Always with the midriffs. I wonder who designs these? Midriffs haven't really been in style for a long time now and even when they were (God help me, I wore it too) they weren't very flattering or nice.

I think the last time it was officially cool was somewhere in the mid-to-late 90's, so they have no excuse.

And yeah, I had a number of those tiny tees and baby tops too. :D They had things like "LOVE" and "HOPE" written on them, or a single star... and don't forget the glitter.

[identity profile] amaryssobellus.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, the glitter. THE GLITTER. *tries to block image of self with glitter baby tee*

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, but don't forget the BODY glitter. *snicker*

[identity profile] amaryssobellus.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh geez. You're giving me flash backs of a time I would like to forget and burn any and ALL pictures with the incriminating evidence.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
I actually don't mind it so much, since it's not the very worst fashion phase I went through over the years. :P

[identity profile] simgarooop.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 06:39 am (UTC)(link)

Well, there are some "fixes" to those AL midriff outfits.

http://sumomo.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=299794

I didn't download all of the fixes, though. But the ones I did look fine in my game.

*gasp* How did I miss that? That's exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much!

You're right. I don't think I'll download them all either (like the sporty dress with added tights - I wear tights more than most and even I know that tights and sneakers are a sketchy combination at best), but many of them make the meshes less irritating to me. I especially love the one that makes the teen halters longer.

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
They look great! And I love Erin's dress. She definitely does look like Barbie in it! I love when the sim that should be in the center in the loading picture is there. Like, in my asylum house Marina is standing right in the middle of all the alien guys.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE UPDATE! I missed your story sooo much, and even though I like the drabbles, they just keep making me want an actual chapter more and more. XD

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's cool, isn't it? Ophelia is in the middle like that in the JRO loading shot too, which the boys leaning in towards her like the three in the centre of this shot.

It felt like this one would never come together, and it will be nice to finally get it posted. Then, hopefully, the next will come together more quickly. They should, since the next two are mostly written already.

[identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Can't wait for it to come! That dress looks really good on Erin, wow. The clones all look cool too. I love the outfit the clone to the immediate right of Erin is wearing!

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Wait... to Erin's right, or the right of the pic? *snicker* Let's make this easier... the nerd or the swanky dresser?

ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm a sucker for a man in a cardigan too. ;)

[identity profile] a-gates.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Update...? Did someone say Update??? LOL. I love the teasers?
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. This time, it's for real. :D I know I say that a lot, but this time it's true.

[identity profile] simgarooop.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 06:31 am (UTC)(link)

Cool! It's Barbie and the Rockers!

(When I was six, there was a line of toys that featured a rocker Barbie and band, all looking according the time - the 80's- I still remember the jingle of the commercials! :S)

It's awesome that they all have names and personalities now! I can't wait to see them! :)
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I totally see that. :D

It was really fun giving them their individual looks, and tried not to overthink it. I did them all fairly quickly. It's like they completely new characters now, which is cool. I had fun actually playing that lot for a while, and experienced the way ACR helps write the story. :) Though, in this case, it just convinced me to do something I had planned to do anyway, but wasn't sure about anymore.

I can see ACR convincing me to "just go for it" in a number of ways. ;)

[identity profile] soniabigcheese.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
I know you haven't posted the update yet, but I sense that Circe has severely underestimated Barbie .. umm Erin somehow.
I also like the way each one is defined by a little flaw, so they're not EXACTLY clones per se. They still have a unique personality each.
And yes, I can envision Erin dressing up all the time. Her wardrobes must be bulging with all that pink stuff.
Gah Pink!!!! *hurts eyes*
I'm more of a green/blue person myself, with a splash of black for definition.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
Heheh. I shouldn't say much, but you're picking up on that already, are you? ;) Yeah, Erin is very underestimated by many people, but in Circe's case... it's a very good thing. Even though Erin has her wits about her much more than Circe assumes, she's going to need those wits and more if she hopes to get the better of Circe.

The Beakers might have made some true clones, if Loki had survived to continue his research. As it is, they're all quite different "outcomes" of Nervous. I mostly did that to make them more interesting for myself to play and write about.

I like pink, but not to the extent that Erin does. *snicker* It's really fun to dress her up, and she's the ideal person to use really girly hair meshes on too.

[identity profile] applesafter.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
I love the clones. MOAR nervous please.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
There'll be MOAR Nervous soon, and more clones too.

[identity profile] indigoleo.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I always knew Erin was secretly Barbie.
The clones all look great.
I can't wait to see/read this.

I do have to say, Erin is not quite the air-head for me this time around in my game that she was the first time. She couldn't keep a job to save her life. :P

[identity profile] 80sfiend.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL That is way too funny that she's in the middle!
