Strangetown Extras: The Brokes

Yes, this Strangetown extra takes place in Pleasantview. That makes sense, right? Well, in the sense that it's part of this Stranegtown story... yes, it does. I've been working up the other neighbourhoods to catch up with Strangetown, since this will be relevant to the story (and it's helping me with some of the details). I'm working on a drabble about Frances, which ended up being about Beau too, which then became more of a drabble+ with pics, so I've been playing with the Brokes a little to get some shots.

Something exciting happened: Brandi had twins! The family sim aspiration benefit really does work (but not every time - I played her earlier and had only one child, but didn't end up saving it) . I named the identical boys Gilbert and George. You get the reference, right? I hope so. Anyway, here are a couple of pics. You'll see more in the drabble. I'm having a lot of fun decorating the trailer.

Awww... aren't they adorable?

And there's Beau warming his ass on the radiator, which is (oddly?) one of my favourite new objects in AL. It just adds a nice touch of realism for me. I'd love a really cheap little portable space heater too, but this works for a number of settings.

Here's Beau autonomously playing with his little brother. Again... AWWW.

(Isn't it annoying how some of the SP and EA Store hairs aren't enabled for pajamas, etc? In theory, I like that Seasons feature of different hair with different outfits, but it's more trouble than it's worth most of the time.)

Now... back to get the shots I need for the drabble. I'm making progress on the next chapter too.

I really like that the twin benefit takes effect at birth instead of conception, unlike normal twins. It makes it more surprising. It's the way cheesecake is supposed to work too (and I think I have a hack that makes it work the way it should, giving something like a 30% chance).

I agree. Al has a lot of great objects, but I also really love the way the apartments work. I've been wanting something like that for a long time.

Huh, I didn't know the twin benefit worked differently. So does that mean if you peeked at the pregnancy (via inSim) it wouldn't show (I didn't peak on my latest twins). I've heard about that fix for the cheesecake thing. In never grabbed it. Sadly, a lot of my sims are skilled enough to even make cheesecake, so it's a not issue.

Yeah, it wouldn't show. The baby could officially be a single child, and then become twins at birth. When I played Brandi, it was a single child a couple of times, and then that one time it surprised me with twins. It's pretty cool.

I have to be careful off all the family sims now, since I max out the benefits as a rule. Twins might become something of an epidemic.

I like the cheesecake benefit, since it's a drag to know that it's twins for sure. I love the surprise.

Agreed. Since you can't see it in inSim, I'm going to have to watch a few folks (or not max them) myself *gives Blossom and Pierre a sideways glance*.

I've consider not maxing some of them, but where's the fun in that? *snicker* We'll just have to assume that twins are a more common ocurrance on Sim Earth.

Are Pierre and Blossom both family sims? Their benefits might be cumulative,, but there's also a chance they won't be.
