Strangetown Extras: The Brokes
Yes, this Strangetown extra takes place in Pleasantview. That makes sense, right? Well, in the sense that it's part of this Stranegtown story... yes, it does. I've been working up the other neighbourhoods to catch up with Strangetown, since this will be relevant to the story (and it's helping me with some of the details). I'm working on a drabble about Frances, which ended up being about Beau too, which then became more of a drabble+ with pics, so I've been playing with the Brokes a little to get some shots.
Something exciting happened: Brandi had twins! The family sim aspiration benefit really does work (but not every time - I played her earlier and had only one child, but didn't end up saving it) . I named the identical boys Gilbert and George. You get the reference, right? I hope so. Anyway, here are a couple of pics. You'll see more in the drabble. I'm having a lot of fun decorating the trailer.

Awww... aren't they adorable?

And there's Beau warming his ass on the radiator, which is (oddly?) one of my favourite new objects in AL. It just adds a nice touch of realism for me. I'd love a really cheap little portable space heater too, but this works for a number of settings.

Here's Beau autonomously playing with his little brother. Again... AWWW.
(Isn't it annoying how some of the SP and EA Store hairs aren't enabled for pajamas, etc? In theory, I like that Seasons feature of different hair with different outfits, but it's more trouble than it's worth most of the time.)
Now... back to get the shots I need for the drabble. I'm making progress on the next chapter too.

That first huggle looks like one of them is about to panic. XD
It has to be my favourite interaction from that EP... with the spring riders a close second. I hadn't tried the radiator yet; now I have to!

Also, that Sims 2 Store can't even be selected as pajama hair if you want to, and it looks like it should be bedhead hair. That's just lazy coding.
The Huggle is great, but I really love the "swing around" thing that you can do with kids. That's going to be in my drabble later.
Radiators behave like fireplaces, in that they give you warmth, and they also make clanking sounds like a real radiator. Very cool.

also when i was little i ran into a radiator and had this big welt on my stomach for a long time. so they always make me a little nervous. there's one in my dorm right now, because the building is just so old.

Now Pleasantview has two sets of identical twins. It must be something in the drinking water...
Oooh, that sounds awful. I'm sorry to hear that. They can be dangerous, no doubt, but they aren't always that hot. At least, I've had radiators that barely gave off heat at all. Crappy old things.
Those little kids better be careful.

So... Strangetown has aliens, Veronaville has faeries and Pleasantview has... identical twins? Lol, Pleasantview is so lame.
I don't really remember it, but I've heard the story. Mom was SO upset. But I don't have the mark anymore and don't recall it happening so it's not that big a deal. They make me nervous, but I really like how they look.

I have a similar childhood story, and I can't remember it either. I crashed into the corner of my grandparent's wood stove, and I cut my lip (well, it's better than burning my face, right?). I still have the scar on my lip. It's pretty noticeable, but only when you're close to it, and I can cover it with lipstick if I want to.

Stop me! For my computer's sake, someone stop me!!!!!!!

I can't stop you. The ceilings are worth it. ;)

I was toying with making the last baby twins, but this cemented it. *eyes burn from cute*
Did you buy the Sims 2 Store hairs? Because in the ones I downloaded I did NOT get the Zombie Hair. (this is just my oh so clever way of asking you for a link. :P )

Yeah, twins are sweet. I wish you could get indentical tiwns more often.
I got those from the MATY thread. It's just a matter of starting at the end and going page by page to find all the files. It's a little work to dig them all out.
But it's seems they now have a collection post, for our convenience:

As my Nan would say... bless their little hearts. :D

That benefit really does work. I was surprised with some twins just the other day thanks to it.
That radiator is cool. Looks like AL's going to be one of those "like it for the random stuff" EPs (like Pets, with its great objects but the whole pet thing gets old).
no subject
I agree. Al has a lot of great objects, but I also really love the way the apartments work. I've been wanting something like that for a long time.

I have to be careful off all the family sims now, since I max out the benefits as a rule. Twins might become something of an epidemic.
I like the cheesecake benefit, since it's a drag to know that it's twins for sure. I love the surprise.
no subject
Agreed. Since you can't see it in inSim, I'm going to have to watch a few folks (or not max them) myself *gives Blossom and Pierre a sideways glance*.
no subject
Are Pierre and Blossom both family sims? Their benefits might be cumulative,, but there's also a chance they won't be.
no subject
That sucks that the zombie hair isn't binned for sleepwear... I hope someone fixes that. I would, if I knew how... hmm... maybe...
The radiator is cool. :)

Do they have identical personalities, or are they like my two with totally different ones? Now I really want to get them introduced into my story. But I don't know how to get to that point! Grr.
no subject
I didn't check their personalities, but I'll do that. Is one of them still exactly like Brandi, or are they both different? I'll have to look into it.
I hear ya. I have things planned out so far into the future for parts of the story. It's a bit ridiculous.

Awww, how cute! The toddler hug is adorable, but so is little Beau warming his butt near the radiator (I thought that was a decorative object, BTW!). He was always playing and teaching his little bro on his own in my game, hence why I chose the family aspiration for him in my Legacy.
I guess Brandi Broke is the only person who can give birth to "natural" identical twins. I wish that was more common in the game, though.
Gotta love MATY and their fixed hair files. I wish that zombie hair didn't "disappear" with the PJ's (and I also wish a few of the female store styles were available for teens and younger too).
There are so many cute and random interactions in this EP. Have you tried the mirror cabinet? I read that sims can wash their teeth with it! (Gotta try that right now!)
