Autonomous Casual Romance

I just installed ACR.

That is all. ;)

Ophelia: Wanna make out?

Johnny: YES!!!

Random college student: Get a room!

Ripp: *is generally okay with this*

Many, MANY makeouts later... (easily more than 10)

Ripp: *is still generally cool with this*

Not a care in the world...

So, ummm.... jealousy? What jealousy?

(I didn't adjust a thing, by the way.)

Johnny isn't jealous either. He's a 2/4 on the jealousy scale, so he won't kick Ripp's ass unless Phi has a wedding ring on her finger. Phi is 3/4 on the jealousy scale (requires some form of commitment to get jealous, but that wouldn't really apply anyway), and Ripp is... you guessed it... 0/4. He really doesn't give a shit.

Nobody has made any move to woohoo anyone yet and I've played through about a day with them. I wonder when that kicks in?

Anyway, I'm liking this so far. You can adjust things to your liking, so it's pretty easy to control. I've finally jumped on the bandwagon. Go me!

Now, I'm off to play with Pleasantview a little... I'm working it up in the "background" for my story. ACR should be a fun time there.

". . .unless they meet someone they're massively attracted to."

THAT is the problem. Someone like mild mannered Kitty Curious is actually burning with lust for. . .Loki Beaker. If it was any other neighborhood, I might do it just for shits and giggles, but no, it just can't happen.

Oh, but that would be so funny. *snicker* (I totally understand why you wouldn't want that, don't worry.)

Again, I think you can set it so that would never happen. Once sims are settled in a relationship, you can turn their autonomy off. It can be used selectively.

Loki Beaker. *snicker* What a scandal...

At least Kitty is past the oopsie baby stage. Now THAT would be a scandal.

I wonder how ACR would work if you tricked the game into having a three way marriage? Would it recognize it?

Yes, it sure would be. *snicker*

Maybe I'll test the three-way marriage thing with ACR. I have a test family for that already, when I was seeing if InSim would allow me to set it up.

*total hijack*

So setting it up with inSim you just give everyone the marriage "token" and that's that? Do they get wedding rings?

Don't worry about the hijack. This is relevant to the ACR discussion anyway.

Yeah, you set them as "married" via InSim and they have that token in their relationship profile. All three have wedding rings, but only the most recently married shows up in the family tree (if that makes sense) - can't have two spouses in the family tree, so only the last one counts.

Likewise, you only get the memory for marrying once, and if you do it in-game instead of with InSim. This could be useful for filling specific wants, or avoiding the bad memory for a romance sim. Marry the one that want to marry the most in the usual game way and then add the third with InSim.

Thank you. Sounds easy.

And good tips for getting the most out of it too (avoiding fears or getting the most wants). Albert's new LTW is "golden anniversary" so I'm kind of tempted to get him married to one or the other. But then again. . .they don't NEED to be married. Eh, it's nice to have as an option.
