Magisplay tray recolour isn't working...

Has anyone ever had a problem with the invisible recolour of the magisplay tray from OFB not working in their game? I've had this problem for ages now. I keep downloading the recolour and it just doesn't show up. Could it be some sort of cc/hack conflict? (I guess I should try it without the rest of the cc, huh?) Just wondering if anyone had any insight. I really want to use it to make a present for someone. ;)

Um, what exactly is the issue? That you can't find it in the buy section or that it just doesn't work when you try to use it? If you're trying to find it in the buy mode section by way of custom content emblem at the corner, it's not really a separate custom item. You have to buy the original magisplay tray and then click on the redecorate tool and that's where the invisible version of it is. That was the issue I had at first where I just couldn't find the darn thing in buy mode.

Did you happen to have the color enable package before you lost all of your downloads and forgot to re-download it? That's all I can think of.

Hehe- I wonder what this present could be. It seems like whenever anybody uses magisplay trays it always ends up being something dirty. :P

Ditto what was already said. You may have forgotten to download CEP again, or you may be looking in the wrong place. You need to place the tray, then use the redecorate tool to choose the invisible recolor.

There shouldn't be any cc/hack conflict at all, so I wouldn't worry there. Good luck!

Ugh, yep. You're not the only one having this problem. The recolor doesn't work for me either. I don't think it can be a cc/hack conflict since it's just a recolor.

It generally works fine for me. It leaves a shadow depending on where it's put, but for the most part, it turns invisible likea dvertised.

I would also say it may be a conflict with the CEP.
Try d/l and reinstall the whole thing again.
I've never have a problem with the magisplay in particular, but i'd with other recolors for long until i realized the CEP wasn't installed correctly.

Try to install the newest version of CEP, that might help.

Who knows, some other CC might conflict this recolor (once I had a problem with the OFB toy crafting object - there was something that disabled making toys with it), but I don't think something could really conflict a recolor. Try (re)installing CEP

The recolour is just not showing when I use the redecorate tool. I know where it is and how to use it, since I have in the past, but now it won't show up. (Also, it took me forever to figure out the redecorate thing too. Heheh.)

I think I have an idea of what's wrong now, thanks to these suggestions.

I think that's it. I had a folder in my downloads for the CEP stuff and I thought covered it, but that probably does need to be reinstalled, huh? The weirdest thing is that I can still access invisible recolours of the OMSPs, and some other things too. That doesn't make sense.

I'm going to reinstall now and give it a try.

Oh, it's a good present, or at least I hope it will be. It's not exactly "dirty", but it would be considered gratuitous fanservice. ;)

Yeah, I didn't reinstall the CEP (since I still had some files in the downloads, I thought I was covered). That has to be it. It doesn't explain why the OMSPs were showing their invisible recolours, though.

Hack conflict wasn't making sense to me either, but I was running out of other ideas.

Hmmm. That's odd. Could you maybe have not re-installed the CEP after a reinstall, like I did? (I still had some files in my backup, so I thought it was still there). I'm going to test it out now.

It's worked great for me in the past, but it's just not working now. I think it might be a CEP issue, like some others have mentioned.

I get that shadow too sometimes, but I usually ignore it or edit it out with GIMP. Do you have shadows turned on? We could probably get rid of it by turning off the shadows.

Thanks. That seems to be the thing to do. I'm going to try it now, since I didn't fully reinstall it after I replaced my back up files.

It used to work for me too, so this is definitely some issue on my computer. I think it is the CEP thing, so I'm going to look into it.

(As an aside, I LOVE that flower vase. It's one of my favourite things about Ikea Stuff. I really want to install that, but I've heard things about it "breaking" the lot debugger. Do you know anythign about that?)

A conflict is still possible, but I didn't think that usually happened to recolours. I'm going to install the CEP again, and hopefully, that will work.

I just took a look into it, and apparently it's been updated, and has been for quite some time. That's good news! I'm going to install Ikea Stuff now. Probably later this evening. :)

Basically, it can fix issues with the game. Also useful for getting genetic diversity in children (it has a function that helps to avoid that clone child problem). I also use it to update sims to have uni degrees. Anyone that starts the game as an adult gets a free degree with me (if I think they would have one).
