Roof Raiser

Well, we did it. We're so married right now. Everything went very well, and we had a blast. You know the party is a roof raiser when the DJ asks you if you ever get tired. I laughed, I cried, and I have the ring to prove it. My memory panel has "had a great wedding party" in it. It was just about perfect, with enough mishaps and zany antics to make it truly special. We couldn't be happier.

Thanks for all the wedding well-wishes! We're off to Bermuda for a week now, and I'll probably do some thinking about Strangetown while I'm lying on all that nice warm sand.

Congrats! It's great that you had a good time; its your wedding after all. And somehow, I think the icon looks great with this post XD

I'm so glad you had a great time. Congratulations, and have fun in Bermuda!

Awwwww, I'm glad it went well. I hope there weren't a million people trying to make a million toasts and then there was all the glass clinking and levitating children..

Have fun in Bermuda and don't get lost in the ~Bermuda Triangle~ I'm superstitious, yes I am.

Yay! Still thinking about simming it? Hehe. Anyway, ave as great of a time (or better) in Bermuda as you did on your wedding day! :D

Oh man, congrats! I hope you have an awesome vacation and an even better marriage!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Have fun in Bermuda! Don't get a weird sunburn like sims do!

ps, when you get back, I have some very amusing pics of your self sim to show you. :P *cackles wildly*

I'm glad it went well. I hope there weren't a million people trying to make a million toasts and then there was all the glass clinking and levitating children.

You forget about the collective whining when the guests' bladders were in the red from all that toasting, and there was only one toilet in the whole lot!

I'm glad you had such a great time in your wedding. I wish you both a very long and happy marriage ^^.

Enjoy your Honey Moon!

CONGRATS! I'm glad it was a roof raiser!

Don't get lost in the Bermuda Triangle! I'm superstitious and I believe that stuff, too. ;D

Congratulations. You'll probably be very busy from now on, but hopefully not too busy to keep up with your stories. Although I haven't posted for a while, I /have/ been following along, and am excited to see how things will go on for the Curiouses/Beakers/Nervous.

P.S. Enjoy the beach!

Meant to say also, what a warm outfit Johnny's kid brother (is his name Jordan?) has in the banner. How can you wear a longsleeved sweater/shift and scarf in Strangetown?! Do aliens get cold easily? Or was that the outfit he transitioned into?

[identity profile] indigoleo.livejournal.com 2008-08-04 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yay!
*throws birdseed 'cause rice if bad for the birds.*

I hope you have tons of fun in Bermuda!

Congratulations! And hopefully both of you had the blue glowie marriage rings floating over your heads after the vows were exchanged!

Enjoy the honeymoon, and we'll be here waiting for you when you get back.

Congratulations!! I'm glad you had such a good time. :) Hope you enjoy your honeymoon just as much!

And then everyone leaves with a red toilet icon above their heads and the party becomes a disaster. :(

[identity profile] simgarooop.livejournal.com 2008-08-04 05:14 am (UTC)(link)

Fortunately, that was not the case with this particular wedding ;)

(And that's the reason I don't buy the champagne bottle/hire a barman in my sim weddings anymore, because that's a fool-proof way to get a disaster score in your parties. I only let them throw water balloons at each other and play kicky bag until I get a good score :P)

Congratulations!! :D
Have a marvelous honeymoon!! <3

*more birdseed tossing!*

I'm so glad it was a good time for all! Have fun in Burmuda!

Actually, there were levitating children, or just about... we had three of the wildest children on earth in our bridal party (one ring bearer and two flower girls - one of them threw her flower confetti directly at the guests). They didn't levitate, but it wouldn't have surprised me if they started flying through the air.

Heheh. No worries - a couple of members of my family has been living in Bermuda for 15 years, and I've visited quite a few times already. We've all managed to not disappear off the face of the planet so far. The triangle is supposed to be below Bermuda anyway, and we never go south of the island. ;) (I've never been south of Bermuda in my life, actually.)

Yes, luckily, my guests know how to share a bathroom much better than sims do. :P In the game, I always add a couple of public toilet stalls to the lot before a wedding (and, like you, I hold back on the champagne until the very end of the party, but I usually do add a bar).

I love throwing sim wedding parties, and I'm sure that will eventually become obvious in my story. ;) (I can think of about 7 weddings that will likely happen, sooner or later, just off the top of my head.)

Oh, and if my sim wedding parties (or other parties) aren't going well, I just send a pair of sims off to woohoo. It works every time. ;)

Thanks! :) I'll probably try to sim the wedding when I get back home. Celebration stuff even has our wedding colours - lavender and marigold yellow (the later is used in the party decorations, not the wedding stuff, but I could get it to work). It will be a challenge to try to reproduce the details, but it would be fun too.

Oh, and I'd need to go to simmergirl, or some similar site, to fully recreate the reception party. Later in the night, it involved some men trying to pass as women (and failing) for comedy effect. Yes, my family is pretty crazy... why do you ask? :P

Yeah, that was his transition outfit. It really seemed to suit him, so I kept it.

I don't worry too much about the clothing that the sims are wearing in Strangetown, as long as it suits the character. Buck and Frances wear sweaters too, and Jordan's scarf could always be made of cotton (or linen, silk, or bamboo, etc.). I've noticed that people who live in a warm climate are often less aware of it anyway... and I also have no idea what you'd actually wear in a desert... anyone? Wouldn't it be just as bad to wear something that exposes your skin?

So, yeah... they're sims, so I don't worry about that too much.

Thank you. :) I'm really looking forward to the beach. Being August, the ocean's going to be nice and warm too.

I honestly don't expect any significant changes in our lifestyle and relationship, since we've been together for 8 years already, and have been living together for about 4 of them (we were already married by common law). This just makes it a little more official. If things were going to change much, we probably wouldn't have gotten married, since we both agree that we have a good thing going.

(Having children, now, would be different... but we have no immediate plans for that.)

I'm going to get back to Nervous and Circe right away when I get back (and the clones), and that will involve the Curiouses too, especially Pascal. The plot will move forward for them in a number of ways. I can't wait to get back to it now. I'm sure I'll have a lot of new energy, and fresh eyes, after this break.

It's great to hear everything went well! I hope your happiness will last at least forever. ;)

Also, I believe you're going to have a lovely honeymoon. And then I hope for new updates! *snickers* Take care and have fun!

As a resident of a very Strangetown-esque climate...

I gotta say, you'd have to be completely insane to wear a heavy fabric like a sweater. My friend was wearing a sleeveless wool dress tonight, and was still dying. It's not the skin coverage that matters, it's the material.

But yeah, I don't actually notice the sweaters. I think Frances looks too cute to take his off. Besides, La Fiesta Tech always seems like it's in a perpetual state of fall to me anyways.
