Photos of the short and choppy hair

I acquired that new short and choppy Maxis hair, and since [profile] pixel_and_bean  requested that I share some better photos of the style, I did a little photoshoot with Jaxy.

(I'd like to suggest DYtD as the background music here. Check them out - they're a great band, and I use them as one of my sources of inspiration for Jaxy and Llama Dance Party.)

Who better to model this style than Jaxy Rai, who I would consider the poster girl for such a style. Not to say that a straight girl wouldn't wear her hair like this, but it seems more typical of a lesbian or maybe a hairstylist. Or perhaps a girl who has a hairstylist for a girlfriend. It's also a very suitable style for a rocker like Jax, don't you think?

Now, for some more descriptive shots...

(Oops! You can see my workspace back there. That's like letting the boom mic fall into the shot during a film shoot. :P)

Yeah, I like it. I like it a lot.

I gave her a nose piercing, and it seems to suit her. I'd imagine she might have a tongue stud too, if only sims had tongues. *snicker* But they don't.

Oh, and the shirt is a tank by fanseelamb and the pants are by migamoo.

Now, as a bonus question...

Jaxy and Zoe were getting a little cozy, as they often do (triple bolters, don't you know), and this happened:

That's a memory for "kissed Jasmine for the first time", which left me a little confused. That was not the first time they kissed. Not by a long shot.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? What could be causing it, I wonder?

This is one of the better hairs that I've seen from them in a long time. I love it.

I also like the one that pixel_and_bean just put up pictures of, compairing it with an Adele hair.

That one is really nice, though I don't care for the streaks. I've never been a fan of those.

I like the curly mesh too (once it was fixed by HP), and there is a really nice french twist style (that's how I wore my hair when I graduated from high school) and a classic chignon (which is how I plan to wear my hair for my wedding - I could sim my wedding now *snicker*).

I really approve of the inclusion of those classic styles. *thumbs up* I wish they'd do more of that instead of going for trendy things (with clothing especially), and they've been doing a good job of it lately. They blow it a little by pairing the nice argyle sweater with distressed denim (didn't that trend die ages ago?), but sometimes they go more classic and get it right. Free Time had some great stuff like that, and so did Kitchen and Bath.

If I'm thinking of the same steaks that you are, I'm not a big fan of them either, but I think some of these hairs are some of the nicer ones that isn't custom content (in my opinion. Wait. I'm a little redundant, sorry xD).

Is the curly one you're talking about the one with the strange part in the hair? (And I think I could probably sim my wedding too- bedhead and sweat pants xD Unless I fall in love with someone who would prefer a big wedding, I don't want any guests. I am strange.)

I love the stuff that came with Free Time, and I still want Kitchen and Bath, but my computer really doesn't like my game as it is, even without me adding any more stuff into.

I've always been pretty plain vanilla about hair colouring that way, and many other details of styling. I don't mind those things if they're in moderation, but they can get really overcomplicated and busy. I don't really like embellishment. I'm not much of a fan of "designer" facial hair either. My favourite is just a full beard of the scruff variety. Not too long and unruly, but a beard all the same.

Yeah, it's the mesh with the strange part and the HUGE cranium and forehead (there are a few of those, actually). That mesh had really messed up proportions. Nobody has just as much or more head above their eyebrows as below. Never. That mesh was fixed by HP in the MATY thread - you should check t out. It's nice when the head is scaled down.

My wedding, which is a month away (EEEEP!), is going to be a somewhat nontraditional affair surrounded by a coating of big tradition family wedding. My family does love a party, so I'm sure it will be an epic night (for better or worse - there may be fights and body parts shared with the general public *sigh*). The nontraditional stuff is how I have male attendants and my SO has female ones *gasp* (we each have one of the same sex, and three of the opposite), which is not common around here at all, even though the rest of the world would probably just yawn at that. We're also combining our surnames into a brand new name (not hyphenated). That's been talked about a lot, but reactions are mostly positive so far. My grandmother thought we were super cool. :D She's great.

At this point, your no-guests plan sounds great to me too. It's a lot of fuss to plan a wedding, and we're not really "those types" of people that get really into it. We realize that we should have just eloped, but it's far, far too late for that now. :P

Congrats on getting married! I hope you have a great wedding night. The new last name idea sounds awesome. Last names tend to get on my nerves (my mother insists I should have her last name, my father insists I should keep his, but once I'm legally old enough I am dropping my last name all together in favor of just being Liberty Bliss), but I think that sounds like a very creative idea (Again, I might be a little redundant.... Redundancy is one of my 'charms' xD).

*applauds* Congratulations on getting married! And I love the idea of combining your last names into a new one. :D That's awesome.

My hubby ([livejournal.com profile] yetanotherbob) and I got married on a shoestring budget. I plain lucked out on my wedding dress (late in a giant sale at a closing outlet, and all the stuff in MY size was still in stock, mwahahahaha!), star wars music, friend of a friend hired to perform the ceremony, another friend of a friend semi-hired to do the photography (he got to keep copies for his portfolio). . . . I could babble on about elements of it for hours, but I really don't remember much of the actual event.
