Computer troubles

A computer issue just forced me to wipe out my entire PC with the recovery manager and start over. This really, really sucks, but I've accepted it. I'll have to reinstall everything now, and restore from my last back up, which was when I installed FreeTime. I'll lose Lysander and Hippolyta (I didn't package them, but I could probably recreate them fairly well), numerous other sim achievements, and a whole bunch of sim photos (I knew I should have moved them to my folders, but I was procrastinating). Yeah, including some really sweet shots of Frances that I wanted to use. That part stings the most, but I'll live.

Luckily, anything that I was using for the next chapter has been uploaded to photobucket already. Now, I just have to reinstall everything and try to figure out what I need to re-do. *sigh* These last couple of days have been very unlucky for me. This is just one of many problems I've had to deal with. I just hope my backups are good.

Oh, and I didn't back up my downloads folder. *cries* I really should have done that. Let the hunt for those obscure items begin...

ETA: The paranoid part of my brain thinks that SecurRom from the Spore Creature Creator might be to blame for this, but probably not. Either way, I won't be redownloading that, just to be safe.

I am so sorry to hear of your computer troubles :( I definately know how you feel.

Glad to hear you haven't lost EVERYTHING though, even if it will be annoying for you to hunt down your favorite cc

Oh my gosh, what a terrible thing to have happen! I've been there myself and I know it can be devastating. Luckily you don't have to start from the *very* beginning.

If it helps, I give you permission to cheat things such as badges and skill points to get your sims back up to where they were. ;)

Thank god for backups though. And at least you don't have to re-do your next chapter, that would have been extremely frustrating! I'm sure you could get your cc back- in fact, I'll be happy to help you if you need to find anything.

Ahh, that sucks. Hopefully you'll be able to re-do everything, it's hard work, I remember when that happened to me, it was sucky. It'll be okay, hopefully. :)

Oh, losing stuff due to a reinstall always sucks.

I guess you could enjoy the hunt for the cc you lost though (and find more on the way, everytime I search for a particular cc I end up downloading a couple more)

You can say that's a bright side of this, I suppose. :)

Strange_T, my sis and I was just talking about stuff we've lost in the past. It still hurts. My Phantom of the Opera story was hot....and now lost. I have a couple pictures here and there but.... I'm so sorry. Let us know if we can help you find some downloads for you.

It only takes one little problem to mess up everything, doesn't it?
Sorry to hear about the loss of the downloads folder. I did that after I messed up my original Strangetown. I uninstalled and reinstalled and forgot to remove my downloads folder so, yeah, been there hunted for that.
Hopefully now the bad luck fairy will stop beating you over the head and you can get some good luck coming your way.

Frances seems like a really stand-up, flexible, understanding sort of guy. I'm sure he'd let you position him and take more shots without giving you too much trouble. :)

Losing data always sucks; I'm slowly redownloading all my custom content, too. If there's anything you need help finding, don't hesitate to ask.
