Strangetown extras: Johnny, Ripp and Ophelia artwork - take 2

I have another drawing to share. My significant other completed his second, "new and improved" attempt at a drawing of Johnny, Ripp, and Ophelia, so here it is. I'm definitely going to make this into a painting recolour for the game at some point.

Pretty cool, don't you think? The colours are great, and I'm really liking what he did with the body shapes. He also intuitively knew that Johnny should be the butt of the joke. Why not laugh at the green guy, right?

*snicker* Ripp's hair got censored. Now how did that happen? (At least I amuse myself, right?)

Ripp's new sideburns look sort of like the ones from K&BS. ;)

I cannot wait for another update, I really want to see what happens to Frances!

suppose it is for the best. It keeps us on our toes for the final reveal!

Yes, the color is really unique and fits with the whole desert idea. Well, I imagine if they ever were to meet the Queen, they'd want to let Phi be the one to talk to her. The boys might be too much. The feet are great and probably my favorite parts.

That would be great! I should probably pick up some more EPs, but ehhh.... I'm fine with what I have.

Oh, go right ahead! Don't sweat about the sketches. And I'm glad that you really like my work. I'm looking forward to seeing all of these as in-game pictures!

I live in the middle of a huge city, so I'm only near seagulls once or twice a year at most (during the summer). Hee Hee, but I still got "pooped" by one! That's just my luck!

I'm gonna miss the censor bars once the "huge secret" is revealed. It's been pretty amusing to me too (and reading the reactions of your other readers) ^^.

Actually, I did a couple paintings using this tutorial:

http://sumomo.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=102356

It's not hard to follow at all, at least not for paintings (because I didn't have to worry about shadowing, textures and all that neat stuff I have NO idea how to handle :D).

I was able to recolor a lot of paintings with more than one image (like the four veggie one) very quickly with just the basic options from Photoshop (crop, cut and paste).

Very cool. I think I recognize him. I can't help you with the French. I did learn it in school, but I stopped after grade 10 (I had issues with the teacher). My SO did French immersion (and had a French grandmother), so I might ask him to fill me in on the details.

He's not as fluent as he should be either, but he can get by. We went to St. Pierre et Michelon last summer, and he could manage to communication with the locals well enough. We're lucky to have that little piece of Frances just south of where we live.

Yeah, maybe that's the way it is with seagulls. They go after the "novices". :P You have to keep an eye on them and avoid standing under them when they fly overhead. They're sneaky like that. I can get to the beach with a five minute walk, so it's pretty easy to see a seagull if I want to.

Yeah, I'm milking the suspense for all it's worth, huh? I may as well have fun with it. :)

Thanks for that! I was searching around MTS2, but I wasn't really focused at the time, so I think I skipped over that one on the first pass.

I agree. Paintings should be a good first object recolouring project. I'm looking forward to doing some of the ones with multiple frames in one mesh. I'm thinking about some family portraits.

The only annoying birds I have to deal with at the city are pidgeons. They love to poop on my car all the time and eat my dog's food (good thing she's smart enough to scare those bullies away!). And fortunately I've never been pooped by one of those!

You live so close to the beach! That's amazing! :)

My first experiment was a "family portrait" with the four veggie mesh. Actually, my creation is in the pic I sent you for [Unknown site tag] banner (the paiting with the four previous heir of my legacy). As I said, it was very easy (and fun). I'm sure you'll come up with some neat stuff too.

Oh what a cool pic!!! :D I love it! :D It looks so natural and awesome. :D And I can't wait to see Ripp's new hair!!! I hope it IS the faux hawk! :D

Isn't it great? He's a talented one, for sure. I'll pass on the feedback, since I know he'll love to hear that you liked it.

I like to take some credit for his colour sense, since he said that he first learned to play with colour by copying me. *snicker* Mostly, he just followed my lead in using a lot of complimentary colours, instead of always analogous. He definitely has his own sense at this point. I'm sure I picked up a thing or two from him that way too. Using a lot of "sky" blue, for one. It's odd how artists who work near each other tend to pick up things like that from each other.

That little finger is such an odd little detail. I love it.

No! Censoring a romance sim brings up so many bad mental images.

Like, even though I've actually seen Ripp's hair, I'm now imagining it's a rather... interesting haircut.
