Strangetown Extras: Now I'm just teasing you

I've been playing and writing a little, working towards the next Strangetown update, which should happen sometime this week. The next chapter involves a lot of characters in some small way, so I've been working my way around town and catching up with everyone. It's been a lot of fun. We'll get to see a lot of the characters that people have been asking about (yes, that does include Vidcund... many of you will be happy to know that I've been working on his story a lot lately, and have found an increased interest in him). I have a couple of fun surprises in this next one too.

We'll see a couple of new faces, including this guy:

Art hands! C'mon, everyone's doin' it!

Also, hair is a bit of a running theme. One or more people may be getting new hairstyles.

The freckles ARE cute! I went and downloaded a few of the Brokes myself and they came with them, and now I want to go crazy and put them on all of my sims. :P

Oh no, they are most definitely a clue I think.

Freckles would be fun to use on a family, as an extra level to the genetic thing that you can't really get in the game.

You can sort of do that with one of Lyran's skintones. She has a very nice freckled skintone that I used all the time, but since I had no idea about genetizing stuff, it was extremely dominant.

I guess that now I could tweak it a bit with SimPe and use it as a genetic trait ^^.

I never think of using a custom skin like that (probably because I so often use the premade characters as they are in the game), but it's a good option for the next original character I design. I have no idea about geneticizing things, but I don't think I'd mind that being dominant anyway. Freckles seem like they do get carried on through families like that.

Hee Hee! I admit I'm addicted to freckles, and I tend to put them to all my sims.

They look so cute in game too! (and I'm not fond of the extra smooth-ness of most sim skintones, Maxis included)

I tried some freckles in the past, but none of them really looked right to me. Now that I've found some that I like, I'll probably end up using them all the time too. You'd expect people on Strangetown to have them, really, given how much sun damage they must get from living in the desert.

Where did you get good freckles? I'd love to have some that aren't quite as prominent as the Lyran ones I have. (Not the skintone, that I do like.)

Those are by Helaene, I believe. I'm not really one for her stuff (her makeup is too glossy/realistic and heavy on the eyeliner for me), but I like the freckles.

I think you have to find those at the Sims2GraveYard. I can't recall. I find it hard to keep track of where I get makeup from.

There was a freckle WCIF post in thesims2 earlier, and someone mentioned the Helaene ones. I'll check them out when the graveyard comes back up. Thanks!

Oh, thanks for mentioning that! I'll have to see what others recommended on that post too. I like the freckles to be quite light or even transparent, if possible. Otherwise, they tend to just look like blackheads. :P
