Strangetown Extras: Smustle dance competition

Ripp recently gained enough enthusiasm in the Music and Dance hobby to have access to the secret lot, so he decided to visit, and he invited Johnny and Ophelia along.

All three friends sign up for a smustle dance competition, and the dancing begins.

That's some good smustling.

Soon it's all over, and Johnny starts to second guess his moves.

Ophelia anxiously awaits the results. Ripp does his best imitation of a shy person.

Johnny receives the bad news first.

Ripp is the champion, and he doesn't mind rubbing it in. Ophelia just can't tolerate her defeat. Ripp wins bragging rights and $500. Pretty sweet. That's an easy way to make money.

Ophelia gets over the loss pretty quickly. At least she's not as bad as some of the other dancers. They all have a good laugh at the lame dance moves of the other competitors.

Then Ripp heads upstairs to further his training.

Yes. Yes it was. *snicker*

I think those old farts are both actually professors from LFT. One of them is definitely a drama prof because she kept flirting with the hobby leader, and he would reject her and she kept losing him as a "best friend" over and over again. Crazy drama profs.

Oh gosh, Can you believe I never knew about Drama Professors until I made the mistake of moving one in? I will never forget Prof. Dylan...

I killed him, in case you wanted to know. :)

I'd love to make one of them playable. Do they retain their ability to have instant love with everyone they meet once you move them in?

[identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
YES- Its really annoying, I thought he was glitched. But yea, they fall in love with everyone they meet. SIGH.

Kinda like how if you marry in a mascot; they still have the ability to barge right on into whoever's house they please. First time I invited Shenene over I fully expected her to wait until greeted, but nope! right into the house and straight for the guitar.

When the gen four kids get to college I'm gonna have them invite their stepmom over and see if she struts in and starts it up with anyone. Half that dorm hated her guts!

That happens to me sometimes with random people that I invite over. It seems like you don't always have to greet them. I wonder why?

[identity profile] simkind.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I heard somewhere that Sims with high Outgoing tend to just barge into houses like that.

Hmmm. Good theory. It would makes sense, wouldn't it? If it's not set that way, someone should make a hack for it.

I'm pretty sure that Jill Smith used to just barge in on Buck, though, and she's on the shy side of things (or average, anyway). Could the level of the relationship be a factor too?

[identity profile] ikichi.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes sense- I wonder if that's why some sims take a shower or bath when they're visiting.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Does that happen sometimes? I've only seen that if I've asked the guest to stay the night, or I've made them selectable.

[identity profile] ikichi.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I've had Abejeit D. and a few townie kids randomly bathe at parties, and Nervous, but it's mostly been relatives visiting at uni or at home.

[identity profile] pixelcurious.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
My Juliet took a bath at the Summerdream's house, during a party. And she wasn't selectable. I thought it was mighty presumptuous.

YES! And how Mascots haunt in their uniforms and cheerleaders do as well. (In the mascot uniform, sheesh.)

Annoying? I think it's awesome. What a weird little detail. I'd really like to move one into a family now, just to see how challenging it is to play with one.

[identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Its annoying to me because I never know what their relationship is at, especially since its always 100/100 HEARTS Even if they just got rejected... Maybe I'm just a little crazy. (But the high powered flirts with people they just met are annoying.)

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
Is that "drama professor" thing a documented glitch? I had that happen in my prosperity hood (with Sylvester Gattus--poor guy even got smacked around for it).

That professor is batshit crazy. I kind of like it, though. It makes college a little less dull.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
It's not a glitch. It's part of the game. Drama profs are supposed to create drama. It makes sense, right?

I know I read about it somewhere - maybe the Prima guide. It's definitely supposed to happen (and it makes seducing your profs very easy, if you're a drama a major, which is a bonus for Ripp).

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
OH, Maxis. . .how WIT-E.

DRAMA professor. . .tee hee, *bats at imaginary person*. Stop, just stop. You're just TOO much.

Maybe my prosperity hood's college needs a cowplant, should the drama professor really become TOO much.

I know. But hey, at least its something to make things interesting. I find it amusing.

If you feed her to the cowplant, she'll just be replaced, right? I guess it's a solution for a single troublesome prof, but it doesn't remove the problem in general. Just be careful when interacting with them (if you do something to have a bad social with them, it really hurts your class performance - but only if you're a drama major).

[identity profile] pixelcurious.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be a quick way for a romance drama major to fulfil a "20 lovers" LTW. Invite the professor over, fall in love, feed her to your cowplant. Repeat until platinum. :D
