Strangetown extras: Remember that time we all crammed into the photo booth together?

Here's a little something that I've been working on for my next update. It's a photo booth photo for Johnny's bedroom, which I've created myself and will add to the game by recolouring a painting with SimPE. I had to do it this way because you can't stuff three sims into a photo booth, which is a real shame, since people do it all of the time in real life (I know that I have, many times). I considered posting a WCIF post to the Sims 2 community, but then I figured that if someone had created a hack that cool, I would have heard about it by now. So, using Jaydee's Photo Poses Animation Box, I took the matter into my own hands.

I'm so pleased with that arched eyebrow shot of Johnny. He's so not amused by Ripp's antics. It's just perfect.

All I have to do now is update SimPE and do the recolour. It's been updated for K&B Stuff, but I can't seem to extract the files into the program folder that I created for it on my computer. I followed the instructions to the letter, but my system will not allow them to be placed in the folder (yes, the computer must take all of the blame for this, not me). I don't know if it's some security setting, or what, but I'll gladly take suggestions, if you have any. I run Vista, if it makes any difference.

Thank you. I must say that the link is really helpful as I wanted to put together a shot like this myself. Ironically, I needed it for Johnny and a couple of others. He's getting old in my story and I need some nostalgia. You have saved me the task of doing mass searching. Thank you!!

PS How do you get your sims so close for pix like this? Mine tend to go horizontal and floaty when I try to get them close.

I couldn't resist. I made it into an icon. I hope you don't mind me stealing your line for this purpose.

I'm glad the link was helpful to you. I often find useful things the same way. It's good to spread the word about the good stuff. (And very cool that you'll be using it for Johnny too. I love Johnny. I love him a little more every day, I think.)

I use the "boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false" cheat to move them without the restriction of the grid. It's pretty essential to a lot of my shots (like Ripp tucking in Ophelia in the last chapter). I only just caught on to that cheat recently, but now I use it all of the time. You can still get that floaty thing happening if you get too close, but the key is coming at it from different angles and trying different things. Move the other sim instead. Things like that.

You may use the line anytime, especially for your always delightful avatars!! I adore Johnny Smith. He was one of those characters in my game who started out as a blah and just grew on me completely. And I absolutely love the way you portray him.

The grid cheat is one of my favs, too. I still wish that there was an "anti-floaty" cheat, though!! Anyhoo, glad you liked the line.

It's so odd that you said that, since I had a nearly identical experience with Johnny. My initial reaction to him was actually pretty indifferent. I think he sneaks up on you as a character. Now I just adore him. I'm glad you like the way I've characterized him. He was one of the harder characters for me to get a feel for, but I think he's finally coming into his own in the story.

Yes, a cheat to remove that overlapping floaty problem would be great.

It's a great line. *grin*
