Happy Halloween!

I hope you all have a safe, spooky, and happy Halloween! :)

Happy Halloween! :) We had our little party on Sunday (as you saw!), but the candles are lit once more and very soon we're gonna watch a scary movie. ^^ (We're fairly unlikely to be visited by any kids where we live.)

Thanks. :) Your party looked great. Lots of attention to detail. All I've done this year was a half-assed job on some lights in the window this morning, so maybe we'll get a kid or two. Our house is in an odd location (on a hill on a corner, with no houses on the other side), so we usually get less than 10 of them.

We might take the little guy out to a couple of friend's houses, but otherwise it will be low key for us.

Enjoy your scary movie! :)

Thanks! :) We're on the fourth floor of an apartment building, and while Halloween is quickly growing here it's not THAT huge just yet, so. The people who are against it are fighting a losing battle, though. :P

Little Tomato was adorable in his outfit. :D

We ended up watching The Eye, which was pretty good. A little bit confusing at times, but I put that mostly down to cultural nuances. Had some creepy moments but in the end I think it was more sad/interesting than scary, but I'm kind of immune to most horror films because I've been fascinated with them from a very young age. :P

I think it's cool that it's suddenly catching on there right now. I'd like to pick up a new holiday like that here. It seems fun. I was living in an apartment building while in university and I don't think we got many kids then either. Maybe just the ones who lived inside it.

Thank you. It was a little too big, but I think that just added to the cute. He'll probably be able to wear it again next year for our pumpkin party.

I don't watch a lot of horror films, because I tend to get really creeped out by them. I'm such a weenie like that. I have some friends who are really into them like you and they're equally immune. I used to get dragged to see movies like that in theatres with them and I'm probably still freaked out by some of those scenes to this day. XD

It's been steadily growing for the past 10 years or so, but it wasn't a thing when I was a kid. Shame, because I would have loved it, I'm pretty sure!

Now I'm curious about which films you got traumatized by. :D I'm very picky about horror films, really. I'm not a fan of the gore/monster/chainsaw/zombie stuff, that's more gross and dumb than actually creepy. I like films like The Ring and The Shining, and more subtle things, where the scare comes more from the atmosphere, the unknown, the anticipation that something is going to happen... Traditional ghost stories, really. The less CG and impressive special effects the better. :P
