DirectX 9 Issues
Before I start digging around for answers, I thought I'd throw this out there to anyone who may have already dealt with this problem. I finished installing my Sims 2 basegame and all the EPs and SPs, and when I tried to run it, I received this message:

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm running Windows 7, and I'm assuming I'm also running something that's a more recent version of DirectX. Any thoughts? I'd appreciate any advice you can throw my way.
ETA: I'm taking a look at this page. Hopefully, it'll provide an answer. Ugh, I can be so clueless about this sort of thing.

Good Luck! I really hope you get your game back up as I love to lurk on your LJ :)

(I also had this problem after installing a no-cd thingie, but that was because I accidentally put it in a wrong place)

Try deleting the Accessory and Group caches, Cigen and ContestRegistry files. They're all in the My Docs -> EA Games ->The Sims 2 folder.
This probably won't help but it is the fix for quite a few loading issues, and the files come right back once the game successfully loads so it might be worth a go! Hope this gets fixed soon!
