CC Clutter

I have a long weekend ahead of me, and I wanted to contribute to the GoS monthly theme of clutter, so I'm looking for suggestions for some Maxis-match cc clutter. I'm not promising to make any of it (may as well be honest here), but I hope to get inspired by something. Care to help me out?

Is there anything that'd you'd love to have for your game?

(this is more a question than anything)

What about bugs, like the roaches and flies? Have those ever been extracted? How cool would it be for storytellers/photo folks to have bugs they can put any old where? (which makes me wonder if it's already been done)

But are bugs really "clutter"?

I think it counts as clutter as long as it doesn't serve any functional purpose in the game besides taking up space and looking interesting in pictures.

That was the definition I've gathered from the thread. It seems like they're even counting wall hangings, though those are less interesting to me, since they're already quite plentiful.

Hmmm. That's an interesting one. I imagine that you could use one of those floor overlay objects and use flat versions of the roach textures. If I recall correctly, I don't think they even have dimension (but I'll check it out). I could whip up some wall versions too. That might work for both flies and roaches (flies could be placed in the middle of the room, for example.)

I'm really liking this idea! I think it counts as clutter, given that it's purely visual interest, as skellington said. Also, it makes sense to have some to go along with the real clutter. These cluttered places do tend to attract more bugs.

What about the butterflies and fireflies? Can't forget the non-gross bugs!

Ok, now that I'm all thinking about bugs, it would be too funny to extract the little white "bad" bugs (from the plants) and put them around a sims head like they have a major lice infestation.

De-lurks. Having the butterflies and fireflies extracted would be awesome! I've always had to photoshop them in when I want them because they always spawn in the wrong spot and can't be picked up and moved...

It really is too bad they can't be selected. I'm not sure if my skills are quite up to this task yet, but perhaps I will give it a try.

Oooh, that gives me an idea. I'd love to see someone extract the bug jar with the fireflies inside and make it into a useable lamp-type object, which doesn't die off shortly after created. I've always thought the bugs in the jar were cute, but it makes me sad that they die so quickly.

The lice infestation would be funny. It's really too bad the bugs can't be picked up as objects, so we could mess around with them like that.

To follow up, I attemped to use the cockroach texture on a floor overlay, and I don't think it turned out too great. Maybe I'll play aorund with a little more, though.
