Strangetown extras: Ripp is obsessed with his own mortality

Now, I know that I've been known to InSIM Ripp into a variety of ailments, and I've even killed him a couple of times to get the shots I needed for the story, but is that any reason for him to become fixated on death? I'm starting to worry about his mental health, just a little. Check out the fear that he rolled during a recent session at the Grunt house...

Hmmm. Does this happen often? I've never seen it before. I mean, it seems reasonable to fear your own death, and maybe a little obvious, but does Ripp have some reason to think that he might actually die? Is it because of the recent trend of deaths in the Grunt family? This doesn't seem very healthy to me.

The other wants/fears are typical. He's been fairly obsessed with becoming friends with both Frances and Nervous, based on his recent interactions with them, and he always rolls wants to flirt with people (that one is a cheerleader - a favourite booty call of his), and to buy various instruments. The only typical want that's missing is "woohoo in bed". Yeah, it's always there and it's always "in bed" (I think he just likes to pass out afterwards, since he's so awesomely lazy). Also, Ripp's not really a freshman. He's a senior. (InSIMing is to blame again.) Don't get the idea that they'll never, ever graduate from LFT. *snicker* I may be slow, but I'm not THAT slow.

Anyway, I thought that it was pretty amusing, so I thought I'd share.

Hehe, that is so very Ripp-like!

I heard that sims fear their own deaths after playing with the handheld game for too much.

I've never seen that before. It's always fear of other sims, not themselves. Maybe he's afraid to die, because he just realized that he hasn't been with every woman in Strangetown, and he'd hate to deprive anyone that opportunity? Just a guess. :P

And recent interactions with Frances and Nervous? Oo la la!

He he... I was actually going to comment on how come Ripp is still on his freshman year before I read your comments :).

Well, that fear is not so crazy, keeping in mind what he's gone through, right? Poor guy...

Yeah, that seems appropriate given the disappearance of his dad, and the fire at the Beaker mansion, etc. I would start to fear for my life, too. Even if only on a low level.

It's very cute that he wants to be friends with Frances and Nervous. He needs to quit saying asshole things to Frances, though, if he really wants that. It's not very friendly behavior. ;)

There is a possibility you have corrupted memories, I suppose. Do you ever get the conversation bubble that looks like a bunch of vertical lines? That's a sign of corrupted memories, which I believe is passed by gossiping. Eventually it can make your game screw up, I'm told. There's some way to fix it, though... I don't remember where we found the fix but Kirk took care of mine for me, so the answer is out there (probably at MATY)

I don't think I've ever seen that one either.
I did have a sim roll up an interesting death one once though.
I had the father fixing the microwave (he only had like 6 mech points) and he got electrocuted. His teenage son was there and saw it. The father survived but the son almost immediately rolled up the want to be saved from death!

Well, at least it's not in his wants section! My Stella keeps rolling wants for being struck by lightning or being saved from death. Those knowlege Sims (or in her case, aliens) are really freaky sometimes! It is rather fitting, even if it is a glitch though.

Well the only other thing I think it might be was if he has met the other Ripps that are roaming around the place lol.

How come it says he's a freshman? Is that a glitch too?
I was so tired of having selfsim in college so I made her graduate as fast as I could and then made Ripp drop out. He was an art major, which I didnt want him to become anyway. And well, I was really excited to get him into his new house anyway. It's so him and I can't wait to show it off.

Hehe, that`s hilarious! Looks to me like he`s traumatized. ;)

I`ve had Sims with wants to befriend themselves but that just tops it all.

Like another comment noted, "he's on to you."

"Please don't off me AGAIN. It's giving me nightmares!"

Haha... yep I've seen that fear when my sims are sick or have just recently been sick. I guess they're telling me they don't want me to let them die of disease!

I fear for my sanity, because I totally read the subject line as "Ripp is obsessed with his own MORALITY"... and then I was honestly confused by the wants panel screenshot. Mortality makes so much more sense!

... In my defense, it's been a loooong day in the hot, hot sun. ^_^;
