How do I get plantsims to wilt?

Okay, this might be a very stupid question, but I'm hoping someone on my flist will know a little more about plantsims than I do. To get the wilt skin state, they have to reach 0 in their water meter, right? Are there any other factors?

Does anyone know of any hack conflicts that would prevent the wilt state from happening? Or maybe something that I could use to force the wilt state? I can't seem to dry those poor darlings up!

It their water level is the only thing that affect wilt (and I think it does), couldn't you just drop their water level using inSim (just drag down the slider)?

I've tried that. I've had a group of them hanging around for days with empty water meters, and still nothing. It really makes me think there might be some kind of conflict in my downloads folder or something.

Have you ever had a wilted one?

Yes, I've had a wilted plant before. But it was a long time ago.

Have you checked inSim's health section? Maybe you can make them wilt like you can induce sickness? OR, what about the stuff in the MATY director's cut (that bat box thing and such). I think you can fix sunburns that way, so maybe you can also inflict burn AND wilted-ness?

If you've had some on zero water for a while and they didn't wilt let alone DIE, I'd say you have a conflict somewhere.

edited to add: Have you looked to see if you can get a wilted skin and just apply it? I assume you want the wilt for photo purposes so that would get you there quicker.

I've tried both of those things, also. It might be a conflict. I suppose I could yank everything out for one scene. I guess I'll give it a shot to see if it works.

Are they supposed to die? They're just complaining about stink, so I thought it was more related to hygeine than hunger (or is it both?). I thought they'd die if both light and water got to 0, maybe. I have no idea.

You got me curious so I had to check it out (what I suggested). I even dropped the plants needs all down to half and nothing happened.

I wonder if there's some magical combo of all needs (like they have to get just about to deaths door before it happens).

What worked for me was a bottomed out water meter (which makes sense to me for the wilting thing), and light and love also below 25%.

Try that and see if it works for you. We'll crack this thing yet.

I'm also thinking that they'd need to go to zero on all three meters to die, and they switch into "osmosis" mode after they get really low in water, and seem to draw moisture from the air. I think it'd be really hard to actually kill one.
