Missing: Tank's scar. Reward offered to anyone who can find it.

I'm not sure how I managed to do this, but Tank's scar is missing. I think it might have been deleted in a custom content purge of some sort. I did delete the entire glasses/accessories folder, due to an issue that I was having (and I just had a lot of useless junk in it), so maybe it was in there. When I opened up Worthington's lot, Tank no longer had the scar, and oddly, he was wearing the General's face paint again. I don't have time to worry about what that behavior might mean (besides the fact that Frances ought to stay away from Tank for today), because I need to find that scar. A search on MTS2 found nothing, and I was sure that was where it came from. Now I'm worried that I found it in some remote corner of the internet and I'll never find it again. If you can tell me where this might have come from, I would greatly appreciate it.

(Oh, and there are some bonus funny pics. Just 'cause.)

Any ideas? I know that I had a matching one that was for the chin too, which is also missing. They're very simple looking, as you can see here.

Ripp: Have you checked the garbage? Sometimes Nervous puts random things in the garbage for no reason. He's pretty fucking weird like that.

Me: No, Ripp, I hadn't thought of that. (I wonder why?) But it seems like you're going to check it out for me...

Me: Did you find anything?

Ripp: Yeah... looks like I found something really good.

Me: Ummm... Did you just EAT something from the garbage, Ripp?

Ripp: What?! Yeah. It was still good! What's wrong with that?!

Me: That's just nasty, Ripp.

See? I need help. These sims are just not helping me.

ETA: It has been located! Thanks [personal profile] ndainye!

Most of the scars I've picked up have come from Garden of Shadows forums. In those cases, they're found in the dollies sections, and they're almost always in the makeup bin after install.

Hope that helps. That would be the first place I'd look.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have never been to that forum before, so it seems unlikely that I would have picked it up there. Do you mean that some of the sim designs have scars included in the download? I suppose it might turn up on a random sim, so it's worth taking a look around. I'll check it out.

I was pretty sure that Tank's scar was in the full face makeup folder, but I'm not really sure how I would have deleted it.

That really does look like it! I sometimes do download from The Sims Resource, though not that often (I think I may have found the scar from one of those sims resource theme lists). I'm going to give that one a try. If it's not exact, it's pretty close.

Thank you!

Some of the doll makers include scars they've either made, or were made elsewhere, yes. I want to say that a lot of the contributors used to contribute at places like InSim, and maybe MTS2 in years past, but most of their stuff is more goth/emo friendly, so they prefer uploading to GOS instead.

[identity profile] hidden-kitten.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Is there a reason I can't see the pics? It's been going on all night now, ever since I hooked up my router.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, it seems like other people can see them, and I can definitely see them.

That's odd. I don't know what to tell you.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there's a chance that the scar might turn up on one of the dolls, in that case. Thanks for the tips!

[identity profile] hidden-kitten.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I don't get it. Everything in [livejournal.com profile] allsims shows up, but nothing else, not even my personal journal. I'll search the FAQ and my journal settings...
OH AND THE DIALOGUE MAKES ME WANT TO SEE THEM SO MUCH MORE
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
You're probably still seeing your own pics because they are saved on your computer in memory (pardon my very technically limited way of explaining that).

Well, you can pretty much guess what the pics are from the dialogue, right? *snicker* Good ol' Ripp and his slovenly ways.

[identity profile] hidden-kitten.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I know exactly what he's doing (I've watched Don Lothario do it a number of times). You know, I just want to SEE AUGH. I'm all caps-locky and yelly today. :/ *continues searching* Maybe it's my cookies?

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Heheh. Yeah. This is the first time I've seen Ripp do it, but he's definitely sloppy enough for it (having that one lonely point). I usually catch Nervous doing it, but Ripp was on the lot and uncontrollable, so when he wasn't watching TV or trying to hug people (successfully, this time, I might add), he was into the garbage.

Oh, how much do I love Ripp? :P

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
No clue for the scar, sorry (I would have guessed MTS2 or TSR, since those are about the only two places I go to).

I hope Ripp doesn't get food poisoning.

Ripp, dear, if you're going to eat from the garbage, take a tip from George Costanza. You can only eat it if it's on the top (and it helps if it's an eclair or other sweet). I can clearly see you're in that can up to your arm pit. NOT COOL.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, me too. And it's usually just MTS2, so I thought it would be easy to track down. That one from TSR (recommended above) might be the right one, actually - I have to check it out in-game to be.

Do they get food poisoning from doing that? That would be funny. That'll teach him to stay out of the garbage.

*snort* Good advice (and I love George Costanza). But he's definitely going for something right at the bottom of the can.

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, they get food poisoning from such vile behavior.

*snort* George. "Pastrami is the most sensual of the salted and cured meats."

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on him when I go back to LFT. At least he can't spread food poisoning to his roomies.

George is awesome.

[identity profile] hidden-kitten.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Well, they work on my bf's computer....Grrr. I'm going to stop puzzling in your journal now and go scream loudly in my room.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well, good luck with figuring it out.

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, Ripp is trying to help! Such a nice sim lol. Unfortunately, he's got severe ADD.

Yeah, that one from the sims resource looks a lot like tanks scar! Poor Tank, at first he was so embarrassed by the scar that he had to put war paint on to cover it up, and now he's so used to showing the scar that he's embarrassed that it's not there so he's covering his face again!

Which reminds me, after a lot of trial and error, I was able to recover Strangetown! So I (of course) play the Grunts first; Johnny and Ophelia come over and he starts congratulating Ophelia non-stop. I'm talking 20 times in a row... For nothing! Oh, and his turn ons for me were makeup and a good cook, go figure.

[identity profile] music-simbol.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I was going to look thru MTS2, but that link at TSR really looks like it could be it.

And why do I get the feeling that it wasn't completely necessary to have Ripp help out? You just wanted an excuse to stare at his messiness, didn't you?
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
This is definitely the right one. Thank you so much! :D

[identity profile] indigoleo.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Ripp could definitely get food poisoning. I had a sim do that and the next time I went to his house he was sick as a dog. 'Serves you right,' I said. Sloppy sims will do this sometimes. I once had a child sim passing by a lot, stop, get INTO the garbage can and find something to eat! All the way in it! That was so funny.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he's nice alright. I have such a problem with him hugging other sims lately. It makes me laugh. The other sims aren't always cool with it. *snicker* Ripp will hug complete strangers.

It's definitely the right one. I checked it out. I'm so happy.

*snicker* I know. I have no idea why Tank had the paint on again. It can't be a good sign for his mental health, though.

Oh, good to hear that you recovered Strangetown! And too funny that Ripp was doing that. He can be little obsessive when it comes to Ophelia, though, so I'm not surprised. Though I have yet to see him autonomously flirt with her, which is a little odd, since Tank did it, and Ripp has much higher chemistry with her (must be because of Johnny).

Those sound like very Ripp appropriate turn ons, especially in my story (when I get the new turn ons in Free Time, I am seriously considering giving him the "good cook" one, since he's so all about that).

Too funny. I think I've seen a kid get into the can before too.

It is definitely that one at TSR. I'm so relieved to have found it. Now I can resume taking photos for the next chapter.

Ripp insisted on helping out! He just started rooting through the garbage for me. *snicker* Actually, I've just wanted an excuse to show those for a while. Eating out of the garbage is too funny. It's almost as bad as loving the smell of your own rotten armpits (which Ripp also does).
