I'm dying right now. Not only are they keeping Hermia's last name (matrilineal lineage for the win) but I love that fairy statue. <3

(I actually have a hypothetical question for you, ST. What do you think would happen if a Capp and a Monty got married? Whose last name would they take?)

[identity profile] leskuh.livejournal.com 2009-12-03 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Clearly they would smush the names into one monster name.

The Mapp's? The Canty's?

I vote for the Mapps! (rhymes with Mumps in my head and for some reason I think it's funny)

The Mappys, maybe? :P

It could be The Montecapps. It doesn't even sound all that weird to me.

That's actually an awesome last name. I LIKE IT.

Of course they're keeping her name! ^_^ Puck's heritage is also a matriarchy, so it makes perfect sense.

I've already examined that question at length for my own game, and I've decided that it would be just another point of contention for the Capps and Montys. I think, in the case of Romeo and Juliet, that she'd take his name, and that wouldn't sit well with her family (but I'll save the details for my next update).

The hat! The hat is so great. It's like it's made for Puck - his ears don't even bleed through it!

I love that hat way too much, and I agree that it was made for Puck. It's tilted up to show off his pointy ear! ^_^

Awww, Hermia and Puck! <3

(It seems you've been having fun with Veronaville recently, right?)

Yes, I have been having fun with them. I'm working on my next chapter, but also playing up all the families to catch up to Strangetown in time progression. It's enjoyable.

Aww :) I really like your version of Puck, he's quite different from what I've read before - it suits him :)

Thanks! I don't think I've read all that many different stories that feature him, so I'm coming at it pretty fresh. In my mind, he's very much a part of his faery heritage, so he follows all the customs and things.

My Hermia wears the same mesh but she has the curly version by Alfred Askew on MTS. She rocks that short hair!

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2009-12-05 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I agree. She really does carry it off well, and I think the fact that she starts with short hair is all the more reason to stick with it.

I'm a big fan of that short curly hair (short and curly - teehee! :P) by Alfred Askew. I use it a lot.

I just want to say, I've been a fan of your story for a long time, I've probably read the entire thing twice, and certain "episodes" many more times than that. You really have a way of making the characters endearing, or at least very "human" seeming, even the more villainous ones.
That said, what finally brought me out of lurkerdom was Puck's hat. I swore it was a Sims 2 Store thing, or at least a very maxis match thing, but all of my searches have failed to turn it up. Do you happen to remember where it is from by any chance? Either way, thank you for writing an excellent story that I look forward to reading, each and every update.

Wow, thank you! ^_^ I'm hoping to be able to post a new chapter before the month is over, and it will feature more of Puck and his sweet, sweet hat.

The hat is actually an extracted item from Sims 2 Pet Stories, and you can <a href="http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,14202.0.html>find it here</a> at MATY. Thanks again for the kind words.

No wonder I couldn't find it in the Sims 2 Store stuff. At least I was right about the Maxis bit. Thanks a ton, there will be a very happy bard in my game now!

You're welcome. And you were very right about it being Maxis. I hope you have fun with it. It's a great little item.

(It seems I didn't get the HTML quite right. Oops! But I'm sure you can still follow the link.)

Thank you for the info. Look forward to more Puck.
