Strangetown Extras: Testing out some hair

I was shooting some photos for the next update the other day and decided to play around with the mirror. One of the recent male hairs by [livejournal.com profile] simgaroop really appealed to me, so I thought I'd rave about it a little. But who did I model it on? You have three guesses and the first two don't count. ;)

I really like it. Who knows? Maybe Ripp will grow his hair out again later, and I'll get to use it. (Though, realistically, a possible receeding hairline would make this a bad idea all around for Ripp. Then again, he is like, what, 22-23 years old in the story right now. He has some time to play around with it).

I also tried Nouk's happy braids on Phi, and they look great. I can see switching back and forth between that and the M&G stuff hair with the headband for her.

Oooo, sexy. But I'm not sure if it's what he needed back when you were looking for a shorter ponytail. Didn't you want something that made his hair look neater, not more messy? ^_^ Maybe I am remembering wrong!

But this is sexy for sure... *goes back to stare and drool a bit*

Yes, I remember the same thing. Ripp was supposed to look more "formal" because he was going to meet with the police or a detective in charge of his father's strange demise. At least that's what I remember too.

I agree that ponytail in particular would have been too messy for that scene, but there's an easy fix for that. The original file comes in three versions, and although I retextured the messier one, it wouldn't take me long to switch the alphas and come up with the neat one without bangs too.

Hmmmm...

She could have written around that, of course. He could have made an attempt to neaten up that didn't quite make it. ^_^

I like the neater version. But I'm not quite seeing the difference between versions 1 and 2. *peers at them* Is it the extra strands going back?

Well Ripp isn't precisely a very neat sim (even less back then), so that makes sense :).

The differences between 1 and 2 are minimal, to be honest. Style 1 has some extra strands indeed, while style 2 only has the bangs. Personally, I wouldn't find much use on having those two hairs at the same time in my game.

Yeah, the difference is not worth having two different hairs, I agree. And really, the bangs make more sense than the extra strands that defy gravity.

The neat version is cool too.

You're right about that scene. I was thinking more about after that, using it just for some variety, when he wanted to get his hair out of the way.

Your theory on the failed attempt to neaten up might have worked well too. I could see him ending up like that by the time he got to the interview.
