I was surprised by it too (and was very much hitting pause as quickly as possible), but it was totally just lucky. They do the turning of the head thing more often than you'd think, though. When someone they like enters the room, they almost always turn to look at them (unless they are doing something that won't allow it).

I often time scenes with Johnny, Ripp, and Ophelia to get those head turns. Like when Ripp was staring at Johnny, hoping to receive forgiveness. I also had a scene after Ripp's nightmare where Phi is consoling him, but looking back at Johnny. That was caused by that effect too.
