Well, that sounds right to me. I would guess that it has more to do with the aspiration level, but why not go for both? I don't have an immediate use for an evil snapdragon (Ophelia wouldn't need one, anyway), but I can keep trying. Yeah, InSIM might be the way to go.
Speaking of InSIM... do you know if it can be used to fix family relationships beyond parent, child, and spouse? I want to make the game recognize the relationships between all the Curious siblings and between Ophelia and Nervous. I don't need all those inappropriate heart bubbles (well, the cousins might be almost passable, but no...), and I'm so sick of Pascal having a want to flirt with Lola. *snort*
Oh, and... experimenting on Nervous is SO wrong! *snort*
Well, I'm sure that the General's disappearance wasn't a "good" thing for the military, but it did have some positive effects. It helps them to sway the public opinion about aliens, doesn't it?
I totally agree about just going with the sim-isms, like transitions, aspirations, and the aging, etc. I love how you've been talking about pregnancy "pops" too. You may as well tell it like it is, right? I don't mind pulling in some heavier things that the game doesn't cover too (and expanding on the available relationship/sexual interactions), but why not accept the sim reality? I have trouble with woohoo, though. I just can't have them talking about woohoo instead of just saying sex. I wouldn't be able to have them call it that. It's just too juvenile for me.
