Perfect characters are boring *lol* You are doing a very good job at the flawed-yet-sympathetic portrayals, that's what attracted me to your story in the first place. I've always had a weak spot for anti-heroes - I think I can even remember the first time I heard the term and thought "There's even a name for it!" (I was about 12 and had just started reading hard boiled detective stories) :P

And I think you're right about people often being more forgiving towards male characters with flaws - at least more so than towards women (or female characters...) who come off as "cold" - or you might say with typically "male" characteristics - like Kendall do. Since I don't know her - what she's thinking and feeling - I don't trust her? Maybe? I read about a study of sorts about female leaders and how they more often than male leaders are characterized as "cold, inhuman and without empathy" when they make tough or unpopular decisions (that every leader has to make sometimes) while a man making the same decisions is "strong and tough"... Anyway, this is what I was thinking about in the shower this morning :D
