I like that scene too. The porch is such a nice setting, and it is interesting to see (almost) all of the people that are important to Ripp in one place. And his little struggle over which group he should stick with, even though it's just a minor decision. Johnny and Ophelia are almost as much of a family to Ripp as his brothers are.
You're so right about that. Tank really has always wanted to be part of that group of friends, which was painfully illustrated in the fight at Johnny's house. Part of him really does find Johnny and Ripp unbearable to be around, but a lot of that feeling relates to the fact that they shun him too. He might find them funny if he was standing on their side, and they were directing their taunts at someone else.
Frances really might be reaching for the stars with Tank. We will see, but you might be right. It's cute to see how much he's crushing on him, though. Poor Frances.
Tank is a great character for that, and I really like him too. For all his certainty about his place in life, with the military and all that, he's really unsure of himself as a person. But also afraid to do much searching for himself either. He tries not to put himself too far out there, and he's also afraid to look to far within himself, so he has always turned to his routine as a way to get through the day, but that's all changing now, isn't it?
Ophelia is unnaturally calm, isn't she? Well, at least on the surface. She has a lot of deep sadness underneath it, which is why she loves having Johnny and Ripp there to lift her spirits and distract her from it. She really is trying to move forward and make a happy future, and she knows what's worth crying over and what isn't. She has a very good sense of perspective because of her tragic past.
I totally agree. Ophelia is a family sim who has had her family cruelly ripped away from her, so she's found new ways to define family for herself. She doesn't need the traditional type of family to be happy.
Not at all. It would have been great therapy for them to torch it. But the house stays... like the memories.
Yes, one of them might find a way to make it out alive. And, by now, you already know what happens.
Well, it is a possibility, for sure. You could read those things as signs that Buck does like Jill, but it might also be linked to their close friendship (it also didn't say how exactly Buck "noticed" the lack of a bra). I have been reminding people that he might not necessarily be gay, just interested in things that are typically associated with the feminine gender. It is quite possible for it to go either way. We'll get the truth out of him eventually (and maybe fairly soon too).
No need to be sorry! *grin* I loved your long comments. I always love the detailed feedback and analysis. I'm sorry that it took so long to respond to this one, but I wanted to be able to give it the attention it deserved. Thank you!
Re: looooong comment....
