You're right about Johnny getting to the point of meddling in his friends lives and no, he really didn't have to confront Tank. Tank knows what he did was wrong, he doesn't really need reminding. Ripp, for all that he can be a dumbass at times, does know his brother and, I believe, on some level, he actually would like to be friends with him. (I know all three, left to their own devices, can become friendly with each other) Ripp did handle the situation with Tank rather well when he showed up at Francis's house. You're right when you say Johnny feels he can do everything better then everybody else. What he really needs to do is focus on himself for awhile, step back, and let his friends handle their own problems. Sometimes being able to step back from someone and let them make their own mistakes can be the greatest form of love.
As for Jill, she's a teenager and so by definition, she knows everything and nobody can tell her different (oh, I know that type well!) Maybe she will listen to reason if the advice comes from someone her age (Buck?) but anyone adult? No.
As long as Nervous is rescued from that prison he's in, I'll be happy. I'm very interested to find out more about the voices but i know you'll get to that in due time. I can wait. :) Good things come to those who wait (patiently).
