Strangetown Extras: Hot Lobsters

Man, I have this silly pic that I really need to share. It would make a GREAT teaser pic, but it's not really a good summary of the chapter it relates to at all. So now you just get to look and LOL with me, if you want. It has Ripp and lobsters in it, so you know it's good.

Kendall: Ripp, baby, you're hotter than this steaming hot plate full of lobsters.

Ripp: REALLY?! Thanks, Kendall. I thought you hated me...

She does hate him, but that's the power of the FT romance aspiration bonus speaking. Ripp still throws up in his mouth when Kendall enters the room, but she's just sliding off her chair.

Seriously, I nearly pissed myself when Kendall showed up with the lobsters she autonomously cooked (this scene isn't taking place in a kitchen or even a dining room), and the heartfarting put me over the edge, to say nothing of Ripp's face. *snicker* The context is very funny too, but I'll have to stay quiet on that for now. ;)

This one seems like it would be good for a caption contest. I'm sure someone has something better than what I came up with. The presence of seafood is just asking for trouble, though...

Heheh. Get used to it, you'll be seeing plenty of her in an upcoming chapter.

... and where is there, anyway? It's not where you think it is. ;) It just has the same paint job (and there's a reason for that).

Naw, to be honest I'm starting to have a soft(er) spot for Kendall. I feel bad for her. (Well, I haven't seen your Kendall's backstory yet, but I feel bad for my Kendall.)

And now I'm trying to remember where there is... *resist urge to look through previous chapters to find out*

You'll feel for her a little more as you see her getting drawn into the mess that is the Grunt family. :P

I've had a scenario planned for her and the boys for almost forever, and I've been on the edge of reconsidering it as too zany, but I've decided that I don't really care if my story just spirals into self-indulgent absurdity. It's bound to jump the shark sometime, right? ;) Or has it already done that? Oh well... at least I'll have fun.

It's a new location, but it will seem very familiar. *hint, hint*

Aw, now I do feel bad for her. xD

No, it hasn't jumped the shark yet. I promise we would let you know if it did. :P

(Although it does depend on what exactly is going on. Is it a dinner? Does she invite Tank over to discuss their relationship and then Ripp and Buck just *happen* to be there? *whines*)

YOU'RE TORTURING ME. Is it The Grunt house redecorated? (For some reason I keep thinking of Stella and Jayne's place, but that makes no sense.)

Heheh. Is that a good thing? :P Now I'll just be waiting for the memo that I've jumped the shark. Or is there anything to really wreck here? It's always been a bit all over the place.

Lately, I feel like mashing things up and taking them less seriously, just to give myself a reason to pull back from it a little. Getting really deep into the characters is enjoyable, but I don't know... I feel sort of self-conscious about it now too.

This thing... it's really out there, and I think it's funny, but it's a bit WTF too. I'm still not completely sure I'll do it.

It's something like the Grunt house. It has the same paint on the walls. ;)
