Yes, I was just "innocently" watching them shower (snapping away with the C button), and then it occurred to me that I could make that work in the plot. ;) Gratuitous indeed, but I did have a specific reason for including it.
I'm glad you liked it. I enjoy the lighter stuff too, and I'm glad you found it funny, but I hope you won't mind the darker turns also, because they are coming. Like Johnny trying to decided between a monologue that's a drama or a comedy, I think a mixture of both can be equally enjoyable. One is a foil for the other.
Oh, I'm very pleased to see that someone has given my little riddle about Mr. Doe some thought! Hint: The prologue has a number of "subtle" hints. I won't give it away, because I seriously wonder if I made a good enough likeness for anyone to pick it up. Okay, a tiny, tiny hint... if you figure it out, there's a very cheeky reference built into who I used for that character.
