Worst break ever...

So, despite being completely unfocused on writing lately, I've found some renewed interest in my sims. I had some time to play the game today (as all of my silly posts attest) and now I'm very excited to move forward with the story, especially where Frances is concerned.

Sorry to spoil so much here, but I'm just so excited for him.

This is, indeed, a romantic moment for Frances (and double spoiler on the new hairdo, but you surely saw that coming). The cafeteria worker is a peeping tom. *snort* How many times will I crack up at that framing hands animation? Surely, a billion times.

I'm still a little out of it where writing is concerned, but I'm thinking that I might be able to get an update moving sometime near the end of the week. I know I must seem a bit crazy lately, but thanks for putting up with me. I really appreciate all of you being there for me, even if it's just the impersonal internet. I feel lucky to have this right now.

YAY! More strangetown soon???

I know how it is to need a break from something, but I don't relish my Strangetown withdrawal!

Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve for Frances and the Trio as well

Well, I hope so. :) I just need to get my act together for a couple of parts of it. It feels like "busy work" (like sweeping your studio floor instead of painting, you know...). I have to do some stuff to move the story forward, and I'll get it together, but I just want to move ahead to the good stuff, as always. Having that there should be motivation enough. I've just been going through a bit of an emotional time, so I'm all over the map, really.

I have some good things planned, I tell ya! ;) I'm super pumped to cover the Frances stuff, so that will help me along, I'm sure.

Thanks for the encouragement. :) It helps to know that you look forward to it.

I LOVE your icon! Nervous is so cute there! *squees with joy*

Oh God, those idle art hands come up at the silliest times, don't they? Glad to see you're getting back to your story. Haha, worst break ever indeed! I can't wait to see what's in store for Frances. :D

[identity profile] zepheera.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks, these two icons are brand spankin' new, less than 30 minutes old!

Who knows, maybe I'll share!

[identity profile] franwi.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man. :P I actually toiled over whether to read this post or not because I am dying for more Frances, yet I didn't want to get spoiled. I think you're making me want to be doubly good to him. He's going to get so much action in my legacy now, lol. Well, probably not really, because I do love to see him slightly tortured. But the dorm cook? That's a different sort of torture. It cracks me up to see the cook doing art-hands. And out the window at a strolling, unaware Frances? Plus the old guy has a rather mean look in his eyes.

[identity profile] pixelcurious.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Aw Francis! Good for him.

At first I thought you meant the cafeteria guy was his romantic interest! :D

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes they do. :P I just love it. (Seriously, that cafeteria guy was standing there staring during the whole interaction, and then started doing art hands at them. It was super creepy.)

I know. I suck at this break thing. Even though I'm a bit unfocused right now, it's hard to stop thinking about the story for very long. I'm really absorbed with it. It's probably unhealthy. :P

Oh, I think you'll like where Frances is heading. He's really coming into himself. To say I'm excited about it is an understatement. *loves Frances*

OMG! They're so cool. Look at the cuteness! I love that Pascal looks like how I've styled him too - like a clean-cut scientist.

You're good at this icon thing. :D

[identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! Strangetown! I hope you get out of this Sims funk, I know how it can be. :)

Good Luck writing and playing!

I wonder who Frances is sexing up though...

[identity profile] zepheera.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
It's something I really enjoy doing, I'm not a fantastic writer (very critical, never happy with what I write) but I love designing, whether it's houses, or icons

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Frances just begs to be slightly tortured, doesn't he? It's the mournful eyes, I think. He's been through a lot with Tank (and Ripp) in my story, so he's due for an upswing. It's going to be GOOD.

That cook is creepy as hell. He was staring out the window for hours. I took some lovely pics, but had to careful crop or block the caf guy out of every one. LOL

He's a Remington Harris clone. XD

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
It's all Johnny and Ripp's fault; sitting on your shoulders and whispering in your ears in their angel and devil outfits!

I'm so glad your Frances will finally be comfortable with himself! You know I'm with you on the Frances love there. He's way too cute, especially when he's happy and smiling. :D

Well, as someone who is trained in art, let me tell you that you have a very nice eye for composition. :)

I understand the critical thing with writing too, but part of doing this sim story has been my dedication to "just doing it", and improving my skills by actually producing work, even if it's not a masterpiece. I get shut down by the pressure to produce something "great" all the time. It's not a good thing. We should all just create something, even if it's not as good as it could be. We'll get better. :)

[identity profile] zepheera.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I do admit though, while I almost always give Pascal that hairstyle, I decided to put him in the lab coat because I noticed that that was what he wears in your story

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
"He's going to get so much action in my legacy now, lol."
FRANCES AND FORT! XD (Sorry, hehe)
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, they're always there. On my shoulders. :P

Frances is easily one of my all-time favourite sim characters. He's so cute, even though he's sort of gnarly looking (which just adds to the making him relatable). I think you'll be happy to see where he goes next.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
The funny thing is, I don't even plan that most of the time. I just call him or teleport him onto the lot, and he always comes in his work uniform. It makes sense, though.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's a really sweet relationship, too, if I do say so myself.

Dear god no! The caf worker is not the love interest. He's just a pervy voyeur (not that there is anything wrong with that :P).
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Frances and Fort? It seems like I need to catch up in my reading... (well, I obviously do.)

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Oh don't mind me... I've been bugging her about getting those two together in her legacy already. :P
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Frances isn't sexing it up just yet. This was his first kiss with someone... mostly autonomous too. *swoons*

I've been in a bit of a funk, period, but I feel like I might be able to get out of it now, and that's a good thing. :)
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
*needs to add that to her list of things to catch up on*

[identity profile] franwi.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Frances turned him down once already, but I have plans, lol. You know how persistent Fort can be. ;)

[identity profile] pixelcurious.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing who it is, and how they meet, etc. :)

As for pervy voyeurs *shifty eyes*

Heh. But isn't voyeurism part of the appeal of the game? Not just sexual voyeurism, either. Though... oh man... have you ever moved the bed (with moveobjects) while sims are having sex? It's hilarious and so wrong. :D

Yay for Frances! It's about time the poor boy got some true lovin'.
*chuckle* I have a silly idea as to who the other could be, but I'm probably wrong.

Haha, that previous statement in regards to Johnny and Ripp being in angel and devil outfits is presenting a mental image that's just begging to be drawn. XD
