Strangetown Extras: Ripp tests out the new hammock

Here's a little extra featuring some of the new (to me) Bon Voyage content: the hammock. This is just what was missing from the Ophelia's garden.

Note: If you haven't already guessed, this extra involves sex in a hammock.

Ophelia: What a beautiful day for gardening. I've been waiting for a chance to get these eggplants in all week.

Johnny: Sure would be a whole lot easier with three sets of hands, Ripp.

Ripp: Hey, I'm testing the new hammock. Someone has to make sure it's safe.

Ophelia: I think you've tested it enough for one day.

Ripp: *plays on hammock* Wheeeeee!

Johnny: If you don't soon start helping, you're going to get your ass kicked.

Ripp: You wouldn't do that. Not to me. Empty threats, my friend.

Johnny: Oh, yeah? You really want to test your theory?

Ripp: Okay, okay.

Ophelia: It works better when you actually get something to dig with, Ripp.

Ripp: Yeah, I'm working on it. *looks around in confusion, then pulls something out of his back pocket and gets to work*

Lucy Burb: Hi Johnny!

Johnny: Oh, hi, Lucy! What are you doing here?

Lucy: Just walking by, so I thought I stop to see if you needed any help.

Ophelia: Do you really like to garden in heels like that?

Lucy: Hmmm. Maybe you're right.

Ripp: *sneaks back to hammock*

Ripp: Hey now... *enjoys the view*

Cheerleader: Oh, hey there. That looks comfy.

Ripp: MmmmHmmm...

Cheerleader: Hey, I know you...

Ripp: But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?

Cheerleader: Say what?

Ripp: It's from a play.

Cheerleader: Really? Which one?

Ripp: I don't know... something where everyone dies at the end, I think.

Cheerleader: Wow, cool. *thinking* Theatre guys are hot because they're all crazy.

Ripp: Why don't you... hop aboard the Ripp Express?

Cheerleader: *thinking* I hope that's not a reference to his staying power...

Ripp: There's a seat available right here. *gestures to face*

Cheerleader: Okay. *giggles*

Both: WoooooooooHOOOOOOOO!

(Looks a little dangerous to me. Like some kind of scary cocoon that's trying to eat them.)

Ripp: Ahhh. I'm just going to lie here for a while.

Cheerleader: I think I sprained my wrist.

Ripp: Well, I think I sprained my tongue, so we're even.

(They didn't even take off their clothes. *snort* Ripp didn't even move. I can just imagine him reaching down to zip up afterwards, and that's it. Hammock sex is lazy sex.)

Ripp: Mmmm. The brilliant glow of a platinum aspiration.

Cheerleader: Wow. That's a lot of points.

Ripp: Yup. The big 2-0. Number 20.

Cheerleader: I'm your 20th lover?!

Ripp: Yup.

Cheerleader: Like 10 lovers, using that trick where public woohoo counts as sex with a 2nd person?

Ripp: They have a trick like that?

Cheerleader: Wow. I mean, I knew you were a slut and all... but that's just... Wow. *leaves*

Ripp: *thinking* So hammock woohoo turned out to be pretty fucking sweet. I can just lie here and relax, and then send out a request to any sim on the lot to come over an hop on. Brilliant. What should I test next? Tent woohoo? Sauna woohoo? Oh, that one sounds GREAT. Johnny and Phi would probably like to go to a sauna... or some hot springs... I wish I had enough money to take them on vacation...

Ripp: *plays on hammock* Wheeeeee! I love this hammock.

So, Ripp seems to be a big winner when it comes to the new EPs. An armload of new woohoo options, hammocks to laze about and play on, and lots of new romantic advantages, including the ability to make Ophelia (and nearly everyone else) shoot hearts 24/7. So far, Phi is still his only triple bolt match.

Ripp: I can't help it. I'm irresistible.

Johnny: You can't expect me to believe that, Ripp.

Ripp: Oh yeah? Just look behind you...

The conflicting dual romance/family aspiration hasn't seemed to mess with him all that much yet. He had a couple of "fall in love with someone" wants, but he used to get those anyway (he wanted to fall in love with Jaxy, for example). After he achieved the woohoo with 20 sims (which is not even his LTW - he just did it for fun), he rolled a couple of romance-worthy new power wants: woohoo with 5 service sims (the cheerleader is a "service" sim *snicker*), and woohoo in public with 3 sims. So, he's not exactly settling down and getting married yet. (If he ever does, what am I going to do with all of his old flames? Oh well... most are in college, so it shouldn't be an issue. He'll never see them.)

I may as well confess that I used the College Adjuster to add an extra semester for these three (or just force them to start the last one over again, to be more accurate). I play them so much that they have been close to graduation for quite a while now, and I wanted to play around with my new EPs.

I do realize that I'm probably the only simmer to ever use the adjuster to extend college instead of shorten it. That's just the sort of player I am (most of the time - sometimes I do rush through a little faster if there is no potential story involved). I also don't usually send teens to college until the very last second, and I have been known to turn aging off so I can let my sims be toddlers for a while longer. With the leisurely pace at which this story advances, none of this should really come as a surprise.

I just love them all so much. It's hard to see your little simmies growing up and old in the blink of an eye.

I know how you feel about the rapid growth. I played my SelfFamily a bit and before I knew it "my" little girls were becoming children and the baby boy a toddler! Then I had to stop, lol!

I love the hammock... but forgive me if I say I think all the new woohoos that came with BV were a bit lame. (blushes). Not your pictures of it (they actually do it justice and make it look a lot LESS lame!) but I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the animations of the new woohoos. I don't know what I would have *expected* them to look like, but...

Hee hee.

The trio definitely need to go on vacation soon. Send them to Three Lakes... staying in a tent is free! WOOT!

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn, that IS lazy sex. And a little too cartoony, even for me (at least for story stuff, I find it amusing as a "sim thing").

SO, any good animations with BV? I have to say that EP still holds NO interst for me unless there's some super awesome animations that I could exploit via an animation box. Though seeing that some people are having good luck using he BV inSim makes me wonder. . .nah, it's not worth it just to maybe be able to use inSim. And I am still curious about Big Foot though it's been reported his MEGA LAME (I'd really like to see someone put him in a legacy, someone needs to do a legacy where the side challenge is incorporating all the "bonus" creatures).

(that one pic he looks like he's giving the cheerleader the finger *snort*)

Yeah, those woohoos are pretty lame, but they're no lamer than most of the other woohoo types. I think the hammock woohoo is actually kinda cool, in a super cartoony way. It would have been awesome if they gave us a make out on hammock interaction to go with it, but the woohoo is no lamer than any other (with the exception of bed and hot tub, none of them show you anything). I'd love to see more with all of those animations, but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen anytime soon.

You're right. A Three Lakes vacation might be affordable between the three of them, if they stay in tents (even cheaper if they shared a tent *snicker*). I could fit that in as a little side story.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
So lazy. It's perfect for Ripp.

Yeah, I agree. I'd never use this animation seriously in the story, and I'm very disappointed that they can't make out on the hammock (now THAT, I could work with).

I haven't explored enough to tell you about animations yet, but I should pick up the Jaydee animation box and take a look. I'm sure that there will be some good stuff on there, but that might not be a reason to get the EP if you're not interested. I was pretty "meh" about BV too, but I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

A creature legacy would be fun. That's something I could maybe see myself doing.

That DOES look a little like he's giving her the finger (well, just a little). *snicker* If I timed it right I could probable use that animation to make it look like someone was doing that.

You play your game the way I play it. I ENJOY/love my sims. I also love taking my time while they grow, and plan their lives. This game is fascinating.

[identity profile] simkind.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
20 lovers, Ripp? And you didn't use the public WooHoo trick? Wow.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You're so right. The game really is fascinating. It's interesting that you can speed through it so fast if you want to, or you can slow it WAY down and turn the aging off. I'm definitely in the second category most of the time, especially while working on this story. I've had difficulty with letting my sims die in the past too.

[identity profile] 80sfiend.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww Ripp and the Hammock OTP. ;) (LIES! I love Jill/Ripp way too much)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
The aspiration points do not lie, that was really his 20th lover. It's the first time I've ever achieved that one. Ripp is awesome.

Wait... if I used the public woohoo trick, I could get him up to 30 quite easily. If he rolls the want, I may do that. It's a shame there is no "woohooed with 20 sims memory"... at least I didn't get one.

He really does love his hammock. It's his new thing. He used to lounge on the coach all day, but this is way better, because he can just play on it whenever he wants (and he does it almost non-stop). It fills his constant need for fun and comfort at the same time, and he can woohoo there too. It's ideal.

[identity profile] amaryssobellus.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad that you and Ripp seem to be enjoying your new EP's. The hammock is perfect for Ripp.

Thanks. It's a lot of fun to experiment with all of the new items and features. Ripp loves that hammock so much he might sleep out there all night long if I didn't direct him to go inside the apartment.

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cheerleader: Wow, cool. *thinking* Theatre guys are hot because they're all crazy."

That is sooooo true! Throughout all high school and now college, I've had to deal with them... And I love it! They're always the funniest and most entertaining people out there. It's especially hilarious when all of the guys in choir (who were involved in theater also) start breaking out into show tunes and serenading oblivious passerbys. :sigh, most of my crazy theater guy friends are graduating this semester, I really wish I had a thing to adjust the time they're at college!:

Anyway, I never knew they could woohoo on the hammock. That's so funny! I love it when sims get little quirks and obsessions. Ripp was just meant to own a hammock... Just like the Tank in my game was meant to own poor Moonshine. O_o

[identity profile] simfulacts.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Ripp, oh Ripp! You slutty boy you!

Your dialogue always manages to make me laugh! :D

[identity profile] pixelcurious.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
So amusing. Both your dialog and the hammock sex. It does seem like the perfect method for Ripp. Too bad Sims 2 doesn't have waterbed sex... I used to have a boyfriend with a waterbed, and he could set up a rhythm that let the ripples do most of the work. He was lazy, too. ;D

I know what you mean about not wanting them to age. It's only in my uglacy that I actually wish I could hasten aging--and that's the one place where the rules prevent me from doing so.

[identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with madame_ugly, I have no interest in BV, but... yea, that hammock Woohoo is very fast, and very cartoony. It's so Ripp though, let the girl do all the work. ;)

Haha

[identity profile] x-illegal-x.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I just made an LJ, but I've been following your story for awhile. You're a great writer. Your characters always make me laugh.

[identity profile] cindyanne1.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
And oh... if you ever get time, take the Curious brothers to Twikki and get Pascal a voodoo doll. It's so gosh darn funny!

[identity profile] indigoleo.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Ripp: Hey now... *enjoys the view*
Cheerleader: I think I sprained my wrist.
That whole piece was great! :D That is such a trip! I don't think I've actually seen hammock woohoo in any stories. It looks like a hoot.

[identity profile] dothesmustle.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
There is actually a glitch where the 20 woohoo memory goes off to a random sim's memory. I think there is a fix for this at MATY. It may or may not be called woohooltwfix.

The memory is like, "I'm having for fun than ever!" or something like that. I could have sworn I had a screenshot of it, but I can't seem to find it.

[identity profile] dothesmustle.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
This is what happened when Ripp tried to use hammock:

Wow, 20 lovers? I wonder if Ripp remembers all of their names, haha. The farthest I've ever gotten was 11 lovers with my sim, Nathan.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. I thought I had that one, but I must have been mistaken. Ripp didn't get the memory. It's not his LTW, but he should still get it, right? Will it appear now if I put the hack in, or have I missed my chance? The page for the hack at MATY says the memory gets assigned to some other random sim. That doesn't sound like a good thing at all.

Now I really want to see it. It sounds awesome.

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I guess Strange_Tomato has a magic touch that makes her Ripp win at everything! Mine would probably do that too. :P

[identity profile] dothesmustle.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think it comes back. One of my sims had achieved the want, but I didn't have the fix for it at the time. So his woohoo with twenty sims memory still lies in the cafeteria worker's memories.

I'm already in game, so I can get a screenshot for you. :D

[identity profile] dothesmustle.livejournal.com 2008-05-07 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
The Ripp in my game is pretty smooth with the ladies, he just can't seem to work the hammock. He was my first sim to ever fall off of it, which made him all the more lovable. :D
