Thanks for the kind words! I'm always excited to hear that someone relates to and feels for the characters, because then it actually means something when they struggle and triumph.
You know, developing the Maxis stuff has been interesting. I'm really trying to keep it all in line with the Maxis material. I may slip up on a detail or two, for sure, but I've combed it like crazy to make sure that most of it is right. The one major detail that isn't right, though, is that General Buzz didn't move the family to Strangetown recently. He's shown in a Maxis photo where a number of the adult characters are pictured as teens. Seemed like an insignificant enough detail to me, and I liked the idea of the Grunts moving around a lot like army families often do.
Oh, I just started reading the earlier entries of the Broke legacy and I really like it. I left you some comments, in case you haven't seen them yet. Oh, I wonder which Grunt will make the cut? :)
Ripp always cries when Tank pokes him. It's the same whenever I play him. It's because he has a very high rating for niceness. That's why I mentioned that he hides away and cries so Tank and his father won't see him. He's a weeper in the game. :) He's a weeper in this story too, but speaking as someone who would know, people can go to great lengths to avoid crying in front of anyone (especially someone who would laugh at them).
I'm glad you liked scary Olive, because that's just the tip of the iceberg. She's a terrifying woman. If I get any time at all this week (I wish life was a long weekend, but alas...), I have two more chapters that have been roughly drawn out. One of them will elaborate on the mysteries of Olive Specter just a little.
Yeah, those are Maxis skins. I like simple, matte skin, keeping in line with the cartoon look. I'm sure I would have considered Lyran's skins, since they are Maxis style, but something turned me off. I think they were all just a little lighter, which bothered me. The skins may look better because I have a pretty decent graphics card.
