strangetomato | Strangetown extras: Off to college we go!

You'll get to see Jill and Buck in university in the next chapter, but I just got them set up there tonight, and I wanted to share a couple of pics right away. I thought I had enough willpower to keep it to myself until the update, but that sort of evaporated when the cutest thing happened autonomously, so you get a sneak preview.

That's right. The fish came too. *grin*

Buck got himself a flattering new haircut (or did he cut it himself?), and he's wearing one of my other favourite things about Kitchen and Bath: the argyle sweater! I have so much love for that outfit, and it's perfect for Buck. Just perfect.

The apartment that I picked just happened to be the perfect shade of purple to match Buck's stuff too. He loves it.

And here's Jill. I think she grew up cute. She's completed her funky new look with a striped jumper-type dress (with more green, of course) and some cool boots.

Hey, I can see Johnny, Ripp and Ophelia's apartment through the window! I can even kind of see that llama crossing road sign on the wall. That's a pretty high level of detail.

And this is what I just had to share with you: autonomous serenading! *heart melts* Buck is just too sweet. He gives me cavities.

The Johnny/Vidcund nose is cute and upturned on a girl, isn't it? I've actually used a cloned Johnny to make a lot of pretty female sims in CAS. Now, the distance between Johnny's nose and lips is a little less appealing on a woman. *snicker* That's one of his more alien features, isn't it?

I know. Nobody ever just runs into my house completely naked. It's just not fair. :P

I use InSIM for turning off jealousy, but it has been (and will be) very useful for me. ;)

Jill is a knowledge sim, actually.

*snicker* Yeah, Ripp would be pleased to hear that Buck is getting lucky, and Tank be a little bummed out about the alien thing, but he'd be nice enough about it. I think that Jill would have told him about Ripp by now. He knew about the crush anyway.

Yeah, Johnny might decide that Buck is harmless enough (but little does he know...).

Oh yes, he has moved FAR and BEYOND that! :P

Wow, really? I always thought she was a romance sim, because she was so quick to get into a relationship.

I actually thought Ripp already knew about Jill and Buck's relationship, I thought Buck would tell him, since they seem close enough.

Buck and Jill are my OTP. (Tank and Frank were as well, see?! I even used the name Ripp gave him, D:, why is TANK SUCH AN ASS?! Sorry, got carried away. XP)

D: But Tank and Johnny are my 2nd favorite couple in that hood! T_T

I gave my Buck a little nose job. He still has a large nose, just not that large :)

Jill looks to cool! I bet she and Buck will have tons of fun at UNI together.

So there're 3 years (6 terms or 7?) difference between Ripp/Johnny and Buck/Jill?

This has to be my favourite look for a guy. Buck is special enough to get the very best, I think.

There seem to be a lot of Jill/Buck supporters. I guess with them being the only two Strangetown residents of that age, many people tend to pair them off in their game?

Oh, you gave him plastic surgery? Poor little Buck. (Sorry, but even pixel plastic surgery upsets me a little.)

I think Jill will really come into her own in university. She's been dying to get out of Strangetown and meet new people. It's a good opportunity for her to reinvent herself too.

Yeah, I'm considering it to be about 3 years, but don't analyze that too closely with the game ages, since it's impossible to get sim ages to make real world sense. I decided to do it this way, because I wanted their college years to overlap a little. Jill and Buck would probably be a bit younger, really, but I'm not going to worry about it. The older kids are in their final year now.

Well.. I just edited his nose in CAS.. I had too! I sowwie..! But it was really bugging me.

I don't think that Ripp is really too old for Jill. Women often end up with older men, and Ripp is sort of halfway between Buck and Tank in age, so he's not really that much older. I've always thought that a relationship (or at least something physical and/or romantic) between Jill and Ripp would make a lot of sense, which is why it found a way into my story like it did.

Doing it in CAS doesn't bum me out as much as the surgery reward item would. That thing has always made me sort of sad. I can just imagine the Pleasant twins feeling pressure about their big noses and getting them reduced, or something like that. (Hmmm, that might be an interesting story idea...)

Yeah, I can see how you'd think that, but she has a sort of knowledge sim approach to it all, with wanting to hurry up and learn about it already, and all that. And her dealings with Ripp and Buck weren't really all that quick anyway. She pined away for Ripp for years, and she was already friends with Buck. Jill will begin to seem more like a knowledge sim in university.

Ripp and Buck are really close, but I think Buck has been keeping it quiet, just like Jill has, to ensure their ability to sneak around in the Grunt house.

I don't like that reward either... It goes wroing too often and then you've lost your wonderful sim who just needed a minor nose/eye/chin - job to look absolutly amazing..

It's funny you mentioned that. I only ever tried that reward once, and it went wrong. The messed-up face is so scary. (Also another potential story idea there.)

Well, it makes sense, doesn't it? Plastic surgery really doesn't change your genes.

I know. But I didn't know that the first few ties that I used it.. things are different in sims.. or so I thought till I let my sims breed... -shudders- I got Sis 2 UNI when it came out. I was like... uhm... 15/16.. something like that and I knew nothing about online communities..

Tank and Johnny?! I thought I was bad with pairing him with Stella! Hehehehe. :P

Is this the first time you've heard of a "love conquers all" pairing between those enemies? The Tank/Johnny pairing is probably as common as Johnny/Ophelia (well, maybe not quite...). This is like the fourth or fifth example I've seen/heard of, anyway.
