Strangetown extras: Off to college we go!

You'll get to see Jill and Buck in university in the next chapter, but I just got them set up there tonight, and I wanted to share a couple of pics right away. I thought I had enough willpower to keep it to myself until the update, but that sort of evaporated when the cutest thing happened autonomously, so you get a sneak preview.

That's right. The fish came too. *grin*

Buck got himself a flattering new haircut (or did he cut it himself?), and he's wearing one of my other favourite things about Kitchen and Bath: the argyle sweater! I have so much love for that outfit, and it's perfect for Buck. Just perfect.

The apartment that I picked just happened to be the perfect shade of purple to match Buck's stuff too. He loves it.

And here's Jill. I think she grew up cute. She's completed her funky new look with a striped jumper-type dress (with more green, of course) and some cool boots.

Hey, I can see Johnny, Ripp and Ophelia's apartment through the window! I can even kind of see that llama crossing road sign on the wall. That's a pretty high level of detail.

And this is what I just had to share with you: autonomous serenading! *heart melts* Buck is just too sweet. He gives me cavities.

Oh Buck, you're adorable *heartfarts*. I think both the argyle sweater and the nose suits him :) As for Jill she's prettier every time I see her - love her green hair and the H&M outfit.

Oh, Tank. I gave him a makeover in my game and whenever he goes somewhere on a community lot, EVERYONE THINKS OF HIM. They think of Tank more than Ripp, sometimes! I may have to start keeping a tally *g* *g* And idk why! He's not a Romance Sim in his first or second aspiration ... ! Clearly, he's just that awesome xD

Oh, that's normal enough. That's his popularity sim charisma. Like the swooning for romance sims, other sims always get thought bubbles about popularity sims when they are around. It's cute.

Yeah, I'd start to worry about that too. That was almost a year ago now. I hope they do port them. It's just not fair to leave Mac users out.

Johnny's going to turn into a spy. *snicker* But I think the idea kind of suits him. If he suspected that something was going on, he'd just have to find out. He doesn't like to sit by and do nothing.

Tank makes me laugh too! He makes the stupidest faces. And whenever he comes home from work in my game I always crack up... He's a dread pirate! I will have a ton of Tank spam in an update to come, because what happened to him is by far the silliest thing ever. Oh, and he does do a ton of goofy things. One time one of those strange people from Bon Voyage came to his house and kept bowing at him, and now he just HAS to do it to everyone he sees. The reaction they give him all the time is priceless. It's like "you're crazy, man".

Tank is always rolling affection wants for his wife in my game. He loves her so much it's sickening. They are constantly making out in front of their kids and it really grosses them out. I love it, they're hilarious.

The bowing thing is funny. Multicultural Tank. Multicultural dread pirate Tank. I'd never have imagined Tank doing that. :P He's quite different from my Tank, isn't he?

All those silly random things is why I can't just allow the autonomous actions of my sims to completely dictate the story, though. They're fun, and sometimes it works for the character, if they are particularly silly (like, I can let my Ripp get away with doing some of that stuff in the story), but all sims will just degenerate into a dirty joke telling goofball after a while. I really wish that they'd make it so that extremely serious sims would never do things like that.

I like how the personalities do dictate a lot of things like that, but it should be more extreme. It seems like they're putting a lot of effort in that in Sims 3, with those character traits. I'm looking forward to that element of it.

I think you get that with any couple that's in love and has at least a bolt or two for each other. If they have two bolts, and their needs are met, they spend all of their free time getting romantic with each other. It's so cute.

I love that embarrassed kids reaction. So cute.

I'm thinking that the dominant genes are not random, but set as the same by the game every time, like their recessive colours. I haven't tinkered around with the genes yet (I plan to give the Smith kids recessive red hair, for example), but I'll take note of it when I do, and see if it is the same.

How does recessive skin tone data play into genetics? I've read that any sim baby will just get a skin tone between the two extremes of his/her parents, and that's it (with alien being a little different). Is there more to it than that?

Do they do that crazy gesture for the serenade? :D That's awesome.

Yeah, Johnny leaps into Ophelia's arms every now and then. It's just too silly. I'm sort of glad they took equality of the sexes to the extreme, but that's a bit much in most cases.

Ripp's goosing hangups are related to niceness, as far as I can tell. He's not shy at all (he has 8 outgoing points), and he's really playful and nice (7 and 8 points, respectively... I guess you know where he doesn't have many points *snicker*). Or maybe he just makes a fuss because he feels left out. :P Ripp's personality spread makes him do a lot of those extreme personality animations, so he's always interesting to watch. I especially like the sponge bathing. He's such a slob. Though, surprisingly, Ripp never farts after he gets up from the table in my game. Never. I wonder if that is also related to niceness?

I'd love to see that tutorial, since the launcher seems like a pain. I will also gladly accept any advice about bypassing SecurRom, since I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I don't mind the nose passing on. I want all of the Grunt noses to pass on to children. It's nice to have a family trait that's easy to spot like that. Johnny's nose is another one. It would be easy to know he was the father, if the kids gets his nose.

Yeah, Ripp isn't cool with goosing that doesn't involve him. Maybe that's his problem. I don't think I've seen Ripp do the shocked thing much, though. Johnny does it immediately when someone naked shows up. That's probably part of the reason that I felt he was a little prudish (and also just his more serious nature).

I like Jill and Buck together too. I'm not completely sure what will happen with them, but you know that they will always be friends, at the very least. (And we couldn't leave the fish behind, now, could we?)

Yeah, it kinda does, doesn't it? I figure it must be from his Mom too (I gave her a fairly decent sized nose, with this in mind), or maybe a grandparent.

Well, with the way, the game genetics work, Johnny would never exist as he is now, and Jill would have to be green, but I like the little differences there. It gives Jill an interesting situation, and Johnny seems to have recessive facial genes (since he looks like his uncle Vidcund), which the game doesn't do, but it's cool because it ties the Curious family together with the Smiths.

Buck and Jill have two bolts, and their turn ons aren't even completely lined up. I'll probably switch them later, if they're definitely sticking together. I usually do that once a couple is "locked in". :)

Buck does know how to work with what he has. I love him in the argyle. He's so neat and tidy, and yet colourful.

Jill grew into her looks a bit better. She's one of those people that needs their nose to grow into their face, since it was so tiny. It's a little more substantial now.

D'awwwwwww, Buck is the sweetest thing in the world of sims! At first, I thought he was autonomously proposing to Jill, and I was thinking, "Sims can do that?"

I can't wait to see them in college, but most of all, I can't wait to see if how Johnny reacts to Jill and Buck in college. Does he even know about their relationship? Johnny is just the typical over-protective older brother, it'll be fun to see. :P

They are sweet, aren't they? :) I'm just playing out some of the stuff with the new college kids for the next chapter now, but a lot of the other scenes that don't involve them have already been completed. I'm aiming to post on Thursday or Friday, if all goes well.

No, he's not proposing, but I'll let you in on a little secret... he immediately rolled the want to do so. :) Buck is sweet. (And I locked the want. I usually do for those big ones.)

Nobody knows about Jill and Buck yet, so they're sure to get some interesting reactions. I can just see Johnny now:

Johnny: What is it with these GRUNTS?! They're like a pack of hungry wolves after my sweet, innocent little sister.

Jill: Hey, I'm not as innocent as you think, okay?

Johnny: La, la, la... I don't need to hear this...

You're as bad as me. I was playing out the Toddler Party and had to turn off the computer lest I rush and post all the super cute pics (leaving me with nothing to use for the update). Let me just say this, Edwin Curious and Jill Pollinator at the doll house together DID give me a toothache.

Your Buck is really rotting them out, too. I love that hair (in general and on him). I forgot how large his nose is. He's so damn cute. And I love autonimous flirting. I could watch sims autonimously "kiss tenderly" all day.

The only way Buck could be cuter would be if he was autonimously rubbing his own preggo stomach. *dies and is dead from the cute*

Yeah, I'm terrible at keeping good stuff to myself, and why not share it? It's not like it gives the story away.

Buck is a cute one for sure, and he has a proud, PROUD nose. It's always just a little surprising to see just how big it really gets.

He'll be cute to see with children too, don't you think? One of these days... (or months, maybe, with my pace)

Actually, Vidcund passes on his nose very well, too. His alien son, Scott has his nose, hands down. And I think Colin, his other son, may have it also. I don't mind the beak-y noses too much really. I prefer them over the ones that look like they could give persian cats a run for their money!

What I always thought was funny about Ripp and the ass grabbing is sometimes when you tell him to do it, he'll whine at you like he doesn't want to! I figure it's the niceness factor in him. (loves) Nice sims just don't do such things, lol!

There's a cutoff of niceness though, because Lazlo is nice (not as nice as Ripp though) and he loves to goose... give that little cheer and everything, hee hee.

I look forward to showing off the toddler horde (and Aggie making some super cute faces).

Buck will be mega cute with children (like PT is mega cute with children--Paul is always autonimously tucking his spawn in, very cute).

And when he's not doing that, he's kissing up the arm. And when he's not doing that, he's doing some other kind of grope action. Horniest sim I've ever seen. Seriously! I'm always like, "Can't you think of anything else to do?"

That outfit really is perfect for Buck. I still haven't gone in there and looked for K&B goodies, lol! I'm so bad about that!

Thank goodness they started putting the little symbol from which EP or SP the items came from in the corner or else I'd always be wondering where some things came from!

Huh. He rolled the want to marry the girl he slept with once in college, but never for the guy he'd been with forever and had 3 kids with (which lead to my infamous "Oh crap I think he's straight!" freakout). He rolls physical wants once he gets "warmed up" but he does lots of auto squeezing, kissing and flirting with his boyfriend.

Ripp often does that little "YES!!" fist pump for most romantic socials. He's funny like that. I don't think I've ever seen him whine about delivering a goose, but I'll keep my eyes open.

Lazlo's not nice. He's dead even in that category. Neither nice nor grouchy. (And, other than that, he and Ripp have very similar personalities.) The cheer comes from the outgoing, I think. That's why they both do it.

I'd say the embarrassment only applies to those with 8 points and above. That's often the cut off point for those things.
