Why do I do this? Oh yeah, I love it!

Now I know why I was procrastinating on the final few scenes for the next chapter. I just spent far, far too much time putting together a dinner party scene (aka one of the best cheap and easy sim storytelling tricks to fit a large group into a single scene). If the fourteen (!!!) sims weren't enough, I also couldn't resist making the biggest spread ever for the meal. I think it's my recent reading of Forking Fantastic by Zora O'Neill and Tamara Reynolds that's to blame. It really gets me wanting to host a giant haphazard dinner party. (Random trivia: I read cookbooks and food writing more than any other type of book. I just can't get enough of it.) My sim dinner involved many, many shiftatble OMSPs to pile high the food, and thank heavens for the freezer clock and its ability to freeze time and prevent food from going bad. Without these tools, my meal would have been impossible!

And... *holds breath and checks Irfanview folder* my pics actually turned out! It's a good day.

Hey, I just found something pretty neat! The Sims Wiki's article on log rolling uses a picture from S,HWC, from the Three Lakes chapter.

Although ... it doesn't credit you anywhere. So I don't know if it's that good or not.

Well, will you look at that. So it is!

I don't actually think I have any right to credit in the copyright sense. They give a disclaimer that says the image "was taken from the The Sims series of video games or from websites created and owned by Maxis and Electronic Arts, the copyright of which is held by Electronic Arts." That's probably all they need to do. I took that screencap, but the game and all its contents belong to EA.

I wonder if they've used any other pictures from you.

All right, I wasn't sure if you would mind or not. I guess it's good as long as no one else is claiming it as theirs.

Well, if it were me, I think it would have been appropriate (or nice, at the very least) to credit the "photographer" of the sim pic (or at least mention it instead of just yoinking it from my journal), but really I don't think there's any obligation to do so.

Kinda interesting when you think about it.

Yep, it's because everything related to The Sims officially belongs to EA. In theory, EA could grab all the CC off the 'net and sell it in their store, or include it in an EP, or whatever. It just wouldn't be a remarkably good idea to do so, on a general basis.

Also, looking forward to the next chapter!
