Prosperity Challenge: James Fisher is awesome.

I've been playing with the prosperity neighbourhood a little bit, and I just had to share one of my new favourite sims with you.

James Fisher is a nerd, and he's awesomely awesome!

Don't you just love him to bits? I certainly do! I like that he randomly transitioned into that sharp blue plaid shirt too. It really goes with his whole look. He's a family sim.

Any thoughts on Maxis lineage? Hint: he is the product of three different Maxis sims (his mother is the product of two, and the family is a direct clone), but he looks mostly like just one of them.

I still have to reply to everyone's comments on the last couple of Strangetown chapters, so my apologies about the delay. It's been pretty busy and I also just haven't been up to it. I've been picking away at them, and I will do more after work.

It isn't a Broke, but that was a good guess.

The actual father is someone who I consider to have the best genes in Pleasantview (that may be a good clue for some of you).

No, not Don, but a good guess (since I do like Don).

Ok, so you mentioned that you took two ppl from Pleasantview. In your previous post, you said that Mortimer was one of them, so I'll venture that guess that Mortimer Goth is his father. His mother, I'll get to that soon enough!

Morty

John Burb?

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you're right. It is Mortimer. I think he's quite the looker. James looks a lot like him.

It might be harder to guess the last sim, since she isn't so well represented in his genetics.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you have it. It's Mortimer.

I think that he's a very attractive sim, but he probably gets overlooked as such, since he's an old man in the game.

He's actually one of the few Maxis clones that isn't an elder in this 'hood. A number of them are. Their ages are all scrambled in relation to each other too. Mortimer is an adult, and Johnny is an elder, for example.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
That's a good guess too, but it's not John Burb. He didn't quite make the cut for this 'hood. (Though I'm thinking of rounding up some of the leftovers for the toddler adoption pool.)

[identity profile] inclinedplane.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
My first thought was Lyla (I think that's her name, I forget) Broke, however I'm not quite so sure anymore. Either way, I really like him and look forward to finding out more about him!

Hmmmm... you've already confirmed Morty Goth (or whichever name he has in this hood) as the father, and you mentioned that three sims were involved in the making of this sim so I'm guessing Mum is second generation with Johnny as her father.

Looking at just the face and knowing how teen noses tend to change for adults, would it be terrible to venture a guess that the other grandparent is either a Specter or a Subject? there's just something in those facial features (and not colouring) that seems to have that vibe to me....

[identity profile] samantha46465.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Nervous has that kind of nose, so it's probably him.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not a Specter or a Subject. That is definitely Mortimer's nose.

The other sim is a female in Strangetown, so that should narrow your options.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not exactly like Nervous Subject's nose, but I can see how you'd compare it from the front. From the side, it's different, and it's Morty's nose.

I think you mean Brandi, right? No, it's not her, but that's a good guess too.

Thanks. I think that the prosperity challenge will be a lot of fun.

Hah, definitely narrows it down. I was actually goofy enough to write down all the Strangetown playable females and strike out the ones you've already nixed. And, seeing as you've changed skintones and the like around, going by that won't help.

Oddly enough, I'm leaning a bit towards either Circe Beaker's doppelganger or Chloe Singles/Smith/Curious/Whichever's.

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh, all the guessing has me confused. So I'm not even going to bother (since it's only a Strangetown female that's still out there).

Wait. Erin Singles/Beaker? That would help maintain the blonde hair. . .eh, what the hell do I know except. . .

He's cute as hell and I can see the Mortimer in him. Mortimer is a fine specimen. I've always wondered what kind of alien child he'd make.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, your throwaway guess is... CORRECT! When you're good, you're good. It is Erin, though I did change the hair colour and things. I think she ended up staying blond, though.

I agree. Mortimer is the man. I love his look. Maybe I will work on getting his alter ego abducted in this challenge. I'd like to see a number of them get abducted, but I have to do it the hard way. I assume that those hacked telescopes are out of the question for something like this challenge.

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. Circe is there, but she's an old woman (and had kids with "Nervous").

Madame Ugly just guessed it, below. It was Erin Beaker. Not that much of her genetics are showing.

[identity profile] simpathology.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
She was going to be my next guess XD I'm too slow sometimes, hehe.
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 02:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you gave it a valiant effort.

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, I was right. Hee hee, even a blind pig gets a truffle every now and then.

As for the hacked telescope, I really can't see it as cheating. It would be no different than adoption, really. Yes, you might get some aspiration points from it, but there are no "impossible wants" associated with abduction ("impossible wants" being stuff like "30 best friends"--those wants that go over and above even a lifetime want).

The only way I could see the hacked telescope as a cheat is if you deliberately use it to get an elder abducted right before they die, so you can get the platinum grave point. But just to get an alien baby, I don't see any unfair advantage there.

[identity profile] inclinedplane.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I remember now, it was Lyla Grunt I was thinking of?

[identity profile] inclinedplane.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see it was Mortimer. Suprisingly his spawn is not all that bad!
ext_122042: (Default)

[identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, well that's good. I have so few knowledge sims in that 'hood anyway, I can't see that as being a problem.

Honestly, I'd rather have fun with it that get too caught up in the rules. I'm going to play by them, and for points, but it's mostly for fun.

[identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I'm finding so fun about it, actually playing the game as a game.

Before this challenge, I never cared about things like BMOC. Now I'm thinking about it while the sim is a teen! (that's what helped Sylvester Gattus get his BMOC before he even passed his freshman year--major accomplishment for me).

College is going to be a great point haul for me. I've already netted five points from only six students. I have the potential for six more easy points (grades and BMOC) with the four students not yet graduated.

And I'm closing in on two more points for the two popularity sims with "20 friends" LTW's (they both have BMOC so that really helps). All other students have pretty much all the skills they need for their job based LTWs, too.

And I still found time for drama (lord knows college gives you all the freaking time you need).
